No. Continuous export of rare earth products for commercial use reduces the Western private sector’s incentive to build up the production capability. Western MIC cannot piggyback on private sector’s efforts, thus have to pay for the entire production chain themselves.

Also, completely cutting off RE now would have a similar effect as America embargoing oil to the Japanese during WWII. The impact on their entire industry, economy and military would be so profound that you would basically end up forcing them to go to war for that resource ASAP before their dwindling stocks runs out.

I see, I wonder who would be his reliable puppet partner to run for president. I think Elon Musk might team up with Andrew Yang as well.
He did follow Andrew on twitter after the announcement. Even in this world where everyday life has become stranger than fiction, if Elon Musk really does make an East Asian president a reality, then we truly are living in a simulation.

Elon Musk as the next 48th president of the United States?
Elon Musk cannot become the President of the United States due to his failure to meet key requirements of the US Constitution. main reason: Not a US citizen by birth

According to Article II, Section 1 of the US Constitution, a presidential candidate must be a "natural-born citizen of the United States." Musk was born in South Africa (1971) and became a US citizen through naturalization in 2022. This prevents him from running for president
