I also forgot to rant about this (I know it has been posted before)
Next week they are about to shutdown their last nuclear reactor. This is without building any significant additional generation capacity.

The situation is even worse if you realize that the electricity resources have been mismanaged for decades and not just recently.

They are gonna be making so much love that it will be crazy. Maybe @tygyg1111 can volunteer and help make up the power shortfall with some aunties?

It sounds like mainlander to me. I pretty sure it's also filmed in on the mainland lol
Definitely not mainland speaker, not even Taiwan's mandarin. I noticed this before the first 16 seconds. See the explaination below.

CRINGE
They don't even bother to find a mainland Mandarin speaker to do the voice. What the heck is 看顾? Just can't hide the wanwan accent innit?
It's like the Uncanny valley but in hearing. It's just so bad, I can't believe it came out from the CIA, supposedly the world's best spy agency.
It is a non-native who learnt mandarin Chinese well enough to 80%. The guy pronounced "不" (no, not) in "轻声" (Neutral) which should have been pronounced in “去声” (4th tone) or "阳平" (2nd tone) depending on context. From my experience listening to TV program from Taiwan, there is no difference from mainlanders. I do have some experiences listening to foreigners speaking mandarin and miss-pronouncing tone is a very common difficulty.

I've carefully read this text three times. It seems to me that the speaker expressed himself clearly. And yet, I've looked through the Western press and I see very different interpretations, some very imaginative

This is bad, if China just waited another month or so they will be in a much better negotiating position.

Didn't you ignore the other part of what China said?

Here I qoute from the CNN article reporting China's speach:
“The tariff and trade war was unilaterally initiated by the US, and if it wants to negotiate, it must demonstrate genuine sincerity — that includes being prepared to correct its wrongdoings and cancel its unilateral tariff hikes,” the spokesperson said. “China’s position remains consistent: If it’s a fight, we will see it through to the end. If it’s talk, the door is open.”

China's evaluation is based on the condition of US removing all the tariff hikes that Trump made since his "libration day". Even CNN did not ignore this condition, why do you? With this pre-condition, what is bad?

That is neither a Wanwan accent, nor, obviously regular Mandarin. That, good sirs, is a very Caucasian 4th year Chinese language major with a minor in International Relations at Georgetown/George Washington University LOL
They couldn't find an AI model to tweak the accent? I'm sure China has such models for Madarine.

Western MSM: "Behind Enemy lines"

Cutting welfare to boost military spending - what can possibly get wrong?

Well.

Democracy in the West - today's case in point:

I don't think there is any significant change in China's stance from day one. Western MSM are grasping at straws.

LMAO tweet of the day - they forgot China is full of foreign travelers.

What's funny is that Angelica Oung has really turned around - from being your typical wanwanese frog - to an almost certifiable Wumao. I used to berate her a lot on Twitter (X) calling out her stances on Taiwanese independence as a non-starter, and suggested to her to actually visit the mainland rather than regurgitate western talking points prepped for them and her ilk by their American patrons.

LOL No, that ain't me. I really don't like to roll on the ground with sweaty guys so I quit BJJ in like a week. I just can't stand guys' sweat pouring down on my face, or doing some fucking North South position with them. I know that makes me an incomplete fighter due to lack of ground training but, fuck it; so are Buakaw/Liu Hailong/Rodtang. Muay Thai/SanShou is my thing, so I wouldn't choose to subdue/headlock a thief until the police arrive. I'd kick the shit out of him, low kicks tearing up both his legs, then a concussion kick to the head and I'm out. We can call it even Steven; no hard feelings, no cops necessary.
