China to raise reciprocal tariffs on U.S. goods to 84%

Trump: Oh shit, China panicked again! Stop panicking, China! It's very very bad for everybody! Just chill out and call me because I know you really really want to and need to and I'll be super nice too; I'll be nicer than anyone's ever seen! Call me! It's gonna happen; definitely gonna happen. But whatever you do, don't panic again!

isn't it already all blown up?
Not quite-needs to be blown up,crushed, incinerate and flushed down the toilet-and most amazing of all NOT initiated nor done by a Chinese hand but by a Total Fool who in his hubris/ignorance of even simple concepts like tariffs/trade/balances-the world itself has set fire to his own house.Karma is a bitch indeed. ;) ;) ;)

Strong countermeasure! A further 50% tariff will be imposed on all imported goods originating from the United States

The State Council Tariff Commission issued an announcement today that on April 8, 2025, the US government announced that the rate of "reciprocal tariffs" on Chinese exports to the US would be increased from 34% to 84%. The US's practice of escalating tariffs on China is a mistake on top of a mistake, seriously infringing on China's legitimate rights and interests, and seriously damaging the rules-based multilateral trading system.

In accordance with the Tariff Law of the People's Republic of China, the Customs Law of the People's Republic of China, the Foreign Trade Law of the People's Republic of China and other laws and regulations and basic principles of international law, with the approval of the State Council, from 12:01 on April 10, 2025, the tariff increase measures on imported goods originating from the United States will be adjusted. The relevant matters are as follows:

1. Adjust the tariff rate stipulated in the "Announcement of the State Council Tariff Commission on the Imposition of Tariffs on Imports Originating from the United States" (Tax Commission Announcement No. 4 of 2025) from 34% to 84%.

2. Other matters shall be implemented in accordance with the Tax Commission Announcement No. 4 of 2025.
