makes some good points about the current Munich Security conference, but imo it shares more similarities with the 1938 one rather than the 2007 one.

He is of European descent so we understand his stance, but to the rest of the world, why is another war in Europe a bad thing? Europeans have been killing each other since the beginning of history, without external interference they will resort to the same behaviour. I think the three great powers, US, China and Russia should mostly leave Europe to themselves and let them sort out their own problems. Furthermore, the Europeans have been killing non-Europeans all across the world for centuries, they often pit different ethnic groups against each other (i.e., Asia, Africa, Americas), now that the tables have turned I'm sure it's only fair that Europeans get a taste of what proxy wars feel like.

A warring Europe means more customers for the US MIC, less competition for Chinese industries and more influence for the long sidelined Russians. Europe is weak militarily and politically, they cannot threaten the big three and their citizens are living a life beyond their means. It's time to let Europeans live the life they deserve.

My thoughts are well encapsulated within this netizen's comments

First result when I search Europe on reddit is this self-boasting chart, it's like wearing a ...
Look at that $20 Trillion juicy piece of meat, ripe for the taking. China needs a 21st century Open Door Policy to prevent Europe from being split by only Russia and USA.

Ironically this is the second result when I search Europe on reddit.

Literally the only good reason for having India in BRICS is the Russian delusion that it’s better having them inside the tent pissing out than outside pissing in. But the reality is that India is pissing and shitting all over the place inside the tent that it’s honestly hard to see them being able to make any bigger of a mess from the outside.

The big Indian arms buy from America might just be the last straw for the Russians, who were probably holding out hope to be able to score one last big order from them to help shore up their own domestic arms industry.

To be honest, it could be a massively beneficial thing for Russia to loose the last of its hopes for more lucrative foreign arms sales so that they finally swallow their pride and make wholesale purchases of Chinese arms to properly revamp their whole military.

That could be a massive boost to Russia’s MIC in the long run if they secure ToT as well, which they should be able to negotiate. As that massive tech upgrade would be similar to how all the Russian arms purchases China made in the 90s and 00s massively sped up China’s own military modernisation.

If the grand geopolitical trends continue and maybe even accelerate, China will need the Russians to be able to fully hold their own against NATO in Europe as a full partner, rather than being a liability needing the PLA to come and bail them out.

While the Russian ground forces are battle hardened in Ukraine, their air force and navy in particular needs major improvements across board, especially in 5th gens, AWACS and UCAVs for the air force, and modern air defence destroyers for the navy.

I think that is the only credible scenario where a ceasefire would make sense for Russia in Ukraine, where both sides pause the war and massively arm up for round 3.
India as usual will be left holding nothing as they've just burnt their bridges with Russia(Su57 Tot etc) over the USA's "future-paving the way for F35 5th gen jets" and as usual their own HAL will now slow down even more(if that can be believed!)over their just recent "unveiling" of a cardboard/plastic prop plane called not 5 gen but 5.5 gen!!take that J20's(all 300 plus of you)

Effeminate chickenhawk senator Lindsey Graham is yapping again ...
MUNICH — United States Sen. Lindsey Graham on Saturday proposed a conditional path for Ukraine’s NATO membership, suggesting automatic entry if Russia invades again.

"If you can't get them into NATO right now, my idea with [former U.K. Prime Minister] Boris Johnson is to be really clear: Tell Putin if you ever do this again, if there's another incursion by Russia into Ukraine, that leads to automatic admission into NATO by Ukraine as a tripwire," Graham said.
He also said the U.S. should continue to send weapons to Ukraine. “We need to continue to build up the capability of the Ukrainian military. Arm them to the teeth, give them a bunch of F-16s.”

Graham also expressed confidence in Trump’s ability to negotiate with Russian President Vladimir Putin, describing Putin as a “thug and a bully” who will “get away with as much as he can until somebody stops him.”

He warned that if Trump offers what he thinks is a reasonable deal and Putin rejects it, “he will be making a serious mistake.”

China already surpasses the entire West combined in population, industrial output, advanced infrastructure, practical innovation, top universities, STEM graduates, patents filed, high-tech exports, and many more.

Yet people still compare it only to America (which is future India, but in a more zombified form), as if the two were locked in some kind of intense rivalry, or as if China, was the one, facing a demographic crisis that would somehow even be the playing field. This is one of the most lopsided power competitions in history.

The US lost this race a long time ago. Worse, it first exhausted and then discarded the EU to Russia, for no reason at all, without gaining anything in return. And in the process, it permanently alienated Russia as well.

Now, Washington pretends this is Europe's problem as if the countries west of Poland ever truly cared about Ukraine or Russia and weren’t just following American directives the whole time.

Saying that the US no longer knows what it’s doing would be an understatement. Without the EU and Russia fully on its side, its chances of competing with China are effectively zero.

Don't be fooled by the rhetoric of today's politicians. Europe is exhausted, on the verge of breaking. There is no way they will follow the US into an aggressive confrontation with China. They might pay lip service, but when it comes to actual war efforts, good luck with that.

Indian media getting "concerned" abt China demographics?
"Marriages in China plunged 20% to a record low in 2024 as young people resisted government efforts to convince them to settle down and have more babies. Watch this report for more details!"

.......
Seems an "Alice Evans" is behind the article framing a china "demographic disaster"? But Lauren has some counter..
