I don't know the kind of Pinoys that think like that in the Philippines but I can tell you that some of the most virulent anti-China Filipinos are actually living outside the PH. There are a bunch of these unfortunate people in Canada that thinks so high and mighty of their PH and their non-existent military prowess that I love dunking on them in jest by simply pointing out that their country's history never once managed to actually drive out their colonizers militarily, not the Spaniards and certainly not their favorite master, the Americans. They can't even tell me their countries famous battles or famed generals, except for General Luna due to the fact that there was a movie made about that heroes life.

I also love pointing it out to them that the Philippines has the longest running struggle with actual guerilla fighters, rebel insurgency (turned terrorists per American dictat ) in all of Asia to this bleeping day. I asked some of the Filipinos that I am friends with, what are the key ingredients or important elements needed in fighting modern warfare especially against China that simply dwarfs the PH military budget, R&D, training and doctrine, navy, airforce, artillery, ISR, Rocket force, ICBMS, advanced comms, cyber capabilities offensive and defensive...Filipinos in general are highly prone to emotional reaction and don't want to think of their situation in a correct dispassionate manner, hence why their fantasy like notion of war with China is going to be super duper swell. Oh, plus America will kick the Commies butt to save the Filipinos lol
The same western filipinos that fully believe in that one quote of "give me 10.000 filipinos and i will conquer the world" bullshit or how filipino soldiers are super soldierso_O... Because they can track down a soldier in a jungle or something like that.

Saddest thing is that all the tech and fintech companies are trying to stall this by making the employees working from home to return to office mandatorily. Like that’s gonna help much.
It’s such a roundabout cokehead thinking: force people back into the office so they’ll be forced to spend money on nearby cafes and shops and restaurants and maybe that’ll raise commercial real estate prices with the added benefit that the Karens of middle management can take out their existential crises out on their team members all on zoom, in the same open plan office space and the divorced middle age corporate executives can eye rape all the young interns.

Canadian euthanasia and now this? What is it with western elites and murdering their own people? It’s almost like they’re committing genocide.

CIA up to no good in Indonesia. I'm worried we'll have another Marcos or even worse Suharto in power after Joko Widodo leaves office.
It was part of the deal with Australia, they will follow the American containment policy regarding China in return they will balkanized Indonesia especially Irian Jaya and the strategic island of Sumatra. I'm afraid and I may get flak from our Singaporean members, the Singapore gov't is in cahoots too, since a weak Malaysia and Indonesia is in their best interest.

Jokowi is well aware of the problem BUT his Defense Minister had other thing in mind, since he has ambition to become the next President, he need to assuage the American (buying F15).

Next Year Indonesia will join BRICS and this is Jokowi answer to American interference.

Foxconn/Hon Hai Precision Industries manufactures Apple products but cannot claim a major share in the profits from their sale, since Apple holds the intellectual knowledge and property rights. Roughly, Apple gets 31% of the profits from an iPhone sale, Foxconn less than 2%. It's the "most valuable company in the world" for a reason.

Apple's valuation also underpins a 10% chunk of NASDAQ and a big share of US retirement portfolios. Plenty of ammo to use there.

The reality is that phasing out Apple with domestic competitors will bring a lot more money back to China.

News of the ban comes right ahead of an Apple event next week, at which Apple is expected to launch a new line of iPhones and other Apple products.

Apple’s preferential treatment by China thus far is less to do with profits or even employment (the number of workers they employ in China, while large by most standards, is really nothing by Chinese standards), but rather about the political clout Apple has with America’s leading political class.

People keep harping on about how America ‘allowed’ China to catch up, but that’s just plain coup and assigning waaay too much credit and power to the US.

America didn’t take its eyes ‘off the ball’ when it comes to China. It has been obsessively paranoid about China and going out of its way to screw with China since before it was even a country. America was looking to regime change China even in 1989, when the Cold War was still going strong and China was supposed to be America’s ally.

While there was certainly an element of good fortune that dragged America’s attention away from China from 2001, but China has also worked tirelessly to use America’s greed against it to divide their leaders and disrupt their plans to sabotage and attack China by making it too profitable to do business with China, and too expensive to not to.

But today, too much damage has already been done to that symbiotic relationship that not even Apple can do much to dissuade America from the directly confrontational path it is determined to go down. As such, there is less and less value for China to continue Apple’s preferential treatment. Especially when it is working every more closely with America’s intelligence apparatus.

As with most things, America’s gleefully promoted stereotype that Chinese are greedy and puts profits above national interests is more projection than truth. While their indeed plenty of greedy Chinese people who would gladly sell out their country for wealth and riches, China’s political selection process, especially after Xi’s purges, are very effective at weeding such people out and ensure they never climb too high in China’s power structure, and thus can limit the damage they can do. In America, greed is good, and corruption is not only legalised as ‘campaigning’, it’s actually the real full time job of American political leaders. Running the country and doing the jobs they are elected to is actually the side-hussel.
