The irony is that a lot of the inbred idiots in charge of European countries will unironically eat this bullshit up because their minds are still stuck in the increasingly distant past where all Europeans needed to do against the coloureds is to convince parliament to order the fleet to the dispatched. Most of them are so far behind the times they still think rice paddies and plastic toys when anyone says ‘China’, so for them, the absolute worst think that can happen from going to war in Asia against China is loosing a few of the ships they sent. But they can call time any time they want and that’s it, war over, no blowback at all other than bruised egos and a little embarrassment. No no, those backwards Chinese couldn’t possibly take the war back to the European garden!

The China-Europe relationship is complicated. Europe's intel agencies and militaries (which are closely integrated within Nato i.e. US intel/military structure) want a tougher stance on China while the business community want cooperation with China. Europe is still trying to find the appropriate balance between those two forces, but the status quo benefits China because the balance of economic/tech/military power shifts in China's favor every year. So China will continue trying to pursue good relationship with Europe.

This. I made a post recently about NATO shifting to the Pacific just a few days ago and we can see it now. No matter what China does or doesn't do NATO will find an excuse to shift towards the Pacific. I also stated the US knows that it won't be able to confront China alone and that time is not on its side so it will forge voltron alliances to confront China. Honestly, the west will rather the entire world burn than share the world with a non white power. Colonialism is just too much in their DNA, they want to dominate everybody. Terrifying.
