Clearly don't know the use of NATO for Canada... it is way more at risk of being invaded by USA that already pull most of the strings than anything else. And 2% on defense will never stop the US doing what it want, even more with them all over the place in our military bases. The only use of being in NATO is if the US stay in NATO. If the US bail out, it's means it's over and no country will be going to help us anyway.

We should expect the West to start threatening China a lot more with Ukraine getting completely obliterated. They are probably going to shift towards attacking China in hope that the Chinese will force the Russians to accept the Western terms of surrender. Maybe they are planning to stir the pot with Taiwan again.

Does Yellen think she's slick or something? Sanctions will be imposed regardless of China complying with their demands. At least some money can be made selling things to Russia.

Fascinating read from this Frenchman on X regarding an article discussing the ongoing debate being heard in parliamentary hearings on Australia's need to reform called: "WAR POWERS INQUIRY." The "REFORMERS" argued by defense luminaries like ASPI (APPENDAGE OF AMERICAN STATE/DEFENSE DEPT) and others say that for operational and tactical reasons the parliament need not be informed nor possess the final say if and when Australia is drag once again to go to war against the CHINESE COMMIES. Let's call the charade for what it really is: a preparation for a possible war with China.

The way I see it, Canada will be more than willing to become part of the U.S. with the exceptions of some provinces like Quebec, Yukon, and the North West territories. LOL

I mean, the current Vice-Admiral of Canada will be visiting Singapore to discuss of all things the South China Sea maritime situation with the perpetual western chihuahua Colin Koh. What's Canada even going to do in the South China Sea? With what Navy?

Here's the answer to my own question: CANADA SEEKS TO JOIN AUKUS.

I checked it after this comment. Canada has 12 frigates whose SAM load is 16 ESSMs. It also has four 30 year old SSKs and a single 26k ton replenishment vessel. These are the only relevant vessels they have. They can lose to a single 055. I wouldn't take their AUKUS bid seriously either. Trudeau loves to pretend he cares about defense.

Is this going to work better than last time when Canada wanted to get nuclear subs from the UK? I kind of doubt it.
Canada's intention to join AUKUS may appear as an attempt to gang up against China in the SCS or Taiwan. But, it's true intentions may lie in the Arctic since that area will become if it hasn't already the next battle ground for control, resources, and geopolitics. Russia is it's neighbor and having China entering the Arctic it makes sense for Canada to join from a defense savings cost.

Israel ready to target Iranian nuclear sites in response to Tehran’s potential attack

In response to last week's strike in Damascus amidst threats of retaliation from Iranian officials, Israel has allegedly indicated to strike targets within Iran.

Israel is conducting air force exercises, including preparations to target Iranian nuclear facilities and key infrastructure, stated an anonymous Western security official cited by the London-based Elaph News.

Unnamed US intelligence sources informed, that Iran is unlikely to attack Israel directly out of fear of American and Israeli retaliation and will urge its various proxies in the region to launch attacks on its behalf in the coming days.

Released on Monday night, the report raised doubts regarding the prior assessments made by both Washington and Jerusalem, suggesting that an attack by Iran was inevitable.

Notably, Israel has remained on high alert recently following threats of retaliation from Iranian officials, followed by Damascus airstrike that resulted in the death of their top commander in Syria, Mohammad Reza Zahedi, along with six other members of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and at least one member of the Iranian proxy group Hezbollah.

Israel has abstained from providing any official statements on the issue. Meanwhile, both Damascus and Tehran have accused Israel of being responsible for the attack that occurred last Monday. The New York Times cited four anonymous Israeli officials as confirming that the country was behind the strike.

During a security cabinet meeting last week, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made reference to the strike while asserting Israel's commitment to retaliate against any potential Iranian attack.

He stated, "Iran has been engaging in actions against us for years, both directly and through allies. As a result, Israel takes defensive and offensive measures against Iran and its proxies."

Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah said in a televised remarks last Friday that an Iranian response was coming.

“Be certain, be sure, that the Iranian response to the targeting of the consulate in Damascus is definitely coming against Israel,” he said.

After a review on Sunday (April 7) with top army brass, Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant said that Israel was ready to respond to any attack by the Islamic Republic, and has completed preparations for a response against any scenario that would develop against Iran.”

Additionally, Israel is anticipating potential ballistic missile strikes directly from Iran, a threat it has not yet encountered.
Iran, on the other hand, has allegedly placed its military forces on high alert in anticipation of any forthcoming strikes.
