Should we love it or should we ban it?

I don't see the difference between state censorship and "private" censorship that is sanctioned and sponsored by state agencies, and controlled and manipulated by handlers who cooperate with the state behind the scene.

I'm making the point that Russian diplomacy has been demonstrably incompetent since the fall of the USSR, so them running their mouths so much about how dumb the West is while simultaneously seething over NATO expansion is just very stupid. Your enemy can't be a bunch of dumb oafs and also a cabal of evil masterminds at the same time.
Russia diplomacy has been far superior than time in history. It has gotten rid of former vassals that didnot contribute anything and gain some thing that cannot be visibly measured. Those countries including Ukraine has very negative impact on alot of things domestically in Russia. that fundamental restructuring is going now.
Tucker went to UAE to tell them Moscow is nicer than any US city as If Wealthy Arabs does not know this fact. It is the same UAE that Indian PM Modi is going to visit 7th time. such is the scale of Soft Power of Arabs. it is the UAE where all the money of AFghan conflicts are siphoned and nobody can do anything about it.

Luanda and Sao Paulo are also very nice cities. Hong Kong was a very nice city in 2000.
He cannot say in front of those wealthy Arabs that is not true. he compared to the best of best of Gulf states and Asia.
basically every few minutes a plane from Gulf states lands in Russia. they know reality. these things not possible if Russia was inside Soviet Union. pay attention to facts like religion and ethnicities.

NIBRS (and previously, the UCR), the main source of crime statistics, has always been voluntary but 94% of US police departments participate (

regardless, homicide, which is separately inferred from death certificates have gone down since the 1990s and otherwise flat over decades (

Directly from your own source:

Even though the violent crime rate has been decreasing since 1990, the United States tops the ranking of countries with the most prisoners. In addition, due to the FBI's recent transition to a new crime reporting system in which law enforcement agencies voluntarily submit crime reports, data may not accurately reflect the total number of crimes committed.

Even though 93.5% of law enforcement agencies participated, submission of crime report is still voluntary and may underestimate the numbers. Also that is if they even report to law enforcement agencies. I mean can't count them if they aren't reported properly.

Also you can't compare to the years 2020, 2021, 2022 as base since they are skewed due to covid lockdowns.

Compared to 2019, 2023 still had higher crime rate especially in car jackings and homicides.

Is modern Russian diplomacy that incompetent? They negotiated a border treaty with China. Which basically ended a multiple decades long conflict which could have flared up into a full blown war several times in the past. Which is more than the Soviet Union managed to do.

Correct: I said that NBRS and its predecessor, the UCR all had voluntary submissions (

Yes: measuring crime and making comparisons between time is hard
I mean can't count them if they aren't reported properly.
Yes. That is why it doesn’t make much sense to compare rates of petty and nonviolent crime.

I’m comparing to both decades prior, including the 1990s and the recent few years

Yes: the post Covid crime boom has made the U.S. more crime-prone than it was pre-COVID but still as peaceful as it was during most of history and more peaceful than in the 1990s.

Calling it blanket incompetent was too far on my part, I was meaning to highlight Russia not succeeding in keeping most ex Warsaw pact and USSR states close after 1991.
