But with the policy paralysis we are seeing, they should press harder, much harder. I think that is the most sensible thing to do now.

On the other hand giving up on boomers is 100% correct. There's nothing that can be done to change their minds that wouldn't come at a hideous cost to China.

China needs to push its pop music, shows, and movies to be on more international platforms as part of these efforts imo. Don't let the Koreans get all the limelight.

The key here is that Schumer and co will be visiting not only China but Japan and SKorea as well.
This is the same game plan as Blinken and Yellen. They first come to China and talk the importance of stability and open communication (to show the world that the US is a responsible actor which wants diplomacy and dialogue) but then they go to Japan and SKorea and bash China and pressure them to take more anti-China stances.
And, this is a point of pride???
