I thought China was uninvestable... That was the point of Gina Raimondo making that statement thinking people were going take her word as being as good as gold thus not invest in China. It must be a huge blow to her ego that after she makes that statement stocks that have anything to do with the Chinese semiconductor industry skyrocket. Two guarantees... Chinese will do it cheaper than the West and when Chinese get into the game, competitors are wiped-off the board. Sure the US can just pass a law telling Western companies not to buy and use Chinese semiconductors... and their products won't be able to compete with ones that use Chinese chips thus they go bankrupt. The West puts out this notion that they use the best chips in everything. They use 3nm chips in their toasters that would cost thousands of dollars each? That's why China dominating "legacy chips" is an issue and so alarming to them now. They don't need the best chips in everything but they like to think that's the case and that's why they didn't see the importance until now.

Why would the capitalists trust anything a complete failure has to say? She had one job — keep an eye on the sanctions and embargoes against the Chinese and she was hit by the mother of all tech surprises on a China visit to boot.

I agree. Climate change is a real problem. Fortunately the US is uniquely equipped to help. Here's a few things that are easy for the US to do:

1. Ban beef and racoon meat. Every time a right winger that thinks ketchup is a vegetable eats their 3rd New York steak of the day, the Amazon goes up in smoke. The health benefits alone would pay for all environmental initiatives over and over. And of course racoon is disgusting, a literal trash rat that nobody should eat. As a bonus India er Bharat would become a true core ally.

LOL who came up with this line should get a Medal of Friendship from CCP. It paints the picture of a muscly CPP warship jumping out of the water and panicking Castro Jr.'s little chicken boys.

A Canadian warship has at least 3 encounters with Chinese ships as it patrols contested waters

Tensions are high aboard HMCS Ottawa, as China asserts itself in the waters off Japan

It's not clear if the ship was passing by chance — or design. But hours earlier, in the darkness, a small vessel used laser lights on HMCS Ottawa.

"I actually got hit with the laser itself," Sailor 1st Class William Monkhouse-Beck told CBC News on the ship. "It can obviously cause permanent eye damage. What were they doing? We don't actually know. That's the danger of it."

This is what happens if you don't create the right conditions, you get shot at by "laser" from Chinese ships.

You have to look at the Five Eyes as a singular political entity like an Anglo empire or EU down to a level of centralisation in military, intelligence affairs but decentralised in economic affairs.

On the 47th anniversary of Chairman Mao's passing, it is only appropriate to share this inspirational article about Mao's protege -- Ren Zhengfei, who has partaken in a no less daunting long march of his own since 2018.

No wonder Huawei is so good at causing butthurt amongst the imperialists. Maybe they should start selling Huawei brand Aloe Vera to help alleviate the burn, out of pure humanitarian concerns?
