This doesn't surprise me at all. Being a "sex worker" got completely normalized in the West in the last 20 years. The biggest manifestation of this is OnlyFans. So many women participate that memes about it are mainstream. So you have a society where young people can't make money and providing sexual services for money is no big deal. 40%+ is exactly what you would expect.
