Y'know, the level of escapism and wish-fulfillment has been quite stark once you start looking at how isekai (protagonists dying in unceremonious ways like getting hit by a truck, collapsing from overwork, or just drop dead from heart attack before an accident even happens, then get reincarnated to fantasy worlds filled with typical role-playing game tropes like magic and dragons and goblins, where the once pathetic main character who used to no-life his way through an unappreciative society back in Japan is now an over-powered, Jesus-level saviour who attracts a harem of cute and sexy females from princesses to she-elves to beast and demon girls as they go on grand adventures together while engaging in a variety of *accidental* sexy-time hijinks along the way) has been absolutely dominating the anime scene for well over a decade now.

I don't think there's ever a period in anime where everything else is basically getting crushed by a single genre. Even mecha anime of the the 70s/80s through the 90s which is probably the closest analogue in terms of dominance wasn't that severe in stomping out the competition, where shounen anime was neck and neck in popularity and was just starting to supplant mecha in the 2000s with the likes of Bleach and Naruto, until isekai came along and now everybody and their mother is making "I Became A [...] In Another World".

So go figure.

China wants a world where interests can be respected and not necessarily zero sum. It's not about doing the opposite of what the US wants per se but if you want to go toe to toe and play the game the US wants you to play then you've lost already. Like I've mentioned earlier, many of you weren't alive or were too young to witness the last Cold War. The Soviets wanted to play the same game with the US, went toe to toe with it and lost...spectacularly. The leadership of the CPC watched this and drew lessons, one of which is that if you sucker yourself into reacting when your enemy is poking you to do just that then they have an advantage over you. Look at the mess Russia is in right now.

The west makes up a very powerful bloc but if you think they are all united at the moment then you need to look again. I wouldn't go as far as saying there are fractures but if you look hard enough you'll realize the only countries who really want to toe the US hard line towards China are the anglos and maybe the Eastern Europeans, the Germans and the French aren't too kin, in fact much of the world isn't. If the US were to start a war I don't believe it will have the backing it thinks it will. China has a military that's growing stronger by the day so I don't understand your statement about its lack of security.

Yes, you can defeat a country economically, lol! How was the USSR defeated? As far as I'm aware there wasn't a single shot fired directly between the Cold War belligerents so how did the seemingly mighty Soviet empire shrivel up and wither away so embarrassingly? It allocated much of it's resources playing the game you want China to play now; trying to keep up and go toe to toe with the west. You sound like one of those those militant diehards from the Cold War era that refused to see the obvious. The Chinese in "Africa" are mostly fine, it can be a volatile region and these things happen. It even happens to Americans.

Let me say it again: there's no Cold War. Not even close. The US wants one because that's the sort of environment they want to create, that's their comfort zone; an us vs. them situation so they can rally their people and the world against a common enemy. This is why they are trying so hard to create false narratives like democracy vs. authoritarianism or capitalism vs. communism. Imagine a so called Cold War were US officials have to come to China to beg for money and are calling seeking re-engagement, Cold War my foot! Thankfully, much of the world isn't falling for it and just wants to get on with it. If, however, China decides to form defense alliances with the likes of Russia, North Korea, Cambodia, Iran, etc then it will lend credence to the claim that China wants to spread its system and go directly against the west, the west will then rally even more than they are now, ASEAN will get nervous and start to align more with the west. In short, it will set China back.

If you want to win against the US, China needs to embed itself into the world's economic system (like it already has) to make sure any confrontation will be costly. It also needs to start working on decentralizing the world's financial system, the sooner the world ditches the USD the better, the US will find it harder and harder to fund its military expeditions. It will eventually reach tipping point where it becomes unsustainable.
Bro the US are the one who is insolating themselves, they thought they can sway BUT are doing it forcible because they can't compete and there is an option, a very viable option. Since both of us came from the Global South and had experience the abuses and exploitation, a China rising is a breathe of fresh air cause we were given a voice, independence and respect we all seek. It had given us a bargaining power we lack before. Sadly our political elites can be bought and its up to us THE PEOPLE to remind them of our sentiment.

US considering ‘military options’ against Russia in Syria – Pentagon

The US is weighing a military response to Russia’s presence in the skies over Syria, a Pentagon official told the Associated Press on Friday. While the Syrian government wants the US to leave the country, Washington insists it will fly its drones with impunity.

The anonymous official refused to state what options were being considered, but claimed that the US intends to “address increasing Russian aggression in the skies over Syria,” the news agency paraphrased.

Warmongers are fuming that the Russians are flying in Syrian airspace and disrupting their own illegal invasion.

Jordan could soon host the Arab world's first NATO liaison office, according to the closing statement of the US-led militaristic alliance following their most recent summit in Vilnius, Lithuania.

“We will also explore with the Jordanian authorities the possibility of establishing a NATO Liaison Office in Amman,” the statement reads. It also highlights that NATO considers West Asia and Africa regions of “strategic interest” and stresses that the group “will also increase our outreach to relevant regional organizations, including the African Union and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).”

A NATO delegation is expected to visit Jordan in October, according to Arabic media reports.

"We have very special relations with Jordan … This is a decision that needs to be taken right now. We are in the process of exploring with Jordanian authorities the possibility of opening an office,” an unnamed NATO official told The Jordan Times on 14 July.

“Jordan could be the regional center for the alliance, and through this center, there can be coordination with regional countries,” military and strategic expert Jalal al-Abadi told Al-Araby Al-Jadeed.

Amman has long-standing cooperation bonds with NATO and has deployed troops to serve alongside NATO forces in Kosovo, Afghanistan, and Libya. The country also has close ties with Israel, the main ally of NATO in West Asia.

Several western nations, including the US, have military bases in the Levantine kingdom.

Last month, Jordan became host to a squadron of F-22 stealth fighter jets deployed by the Pentagon to confront alleged “provocations” from the Russian air force against US occupation troops in Syria.

Abadi claims that the potential NATO center in Amman would reportedly focus on training, intelligence work, logistical support, and cybersecurity. He also considered Jordan to be a good pick due to its close geographic proximity to Syria, Israel, Iraq "and most importantly Iran."

The proposed plan for NATO to cement its presence in West Asia comes at a time when western nations have seen their influence dwindle significantly across the Arab world following decades of war and occupation, opening the door for Russia and China to fill in the void.
