"Mr. Kissinger sees today’s world as verging on a dangerous disequilibrium."

He’s only speaking up now because there’s a not insignificant chance that the US could lose a conflict with China. Kissinger never spoke for peace when he along with brzezinski tried to insitgate war in Central Asia.

Possible. I personally don't see how the Hungary plant would allow it to enter the American market. Unless there was a drastic change internally, I doubt that CATL is willing to leave the North American market to its competitors.

So imo, a factory somewhere in US/Mexico will happen eventually
Bro remember Apple want them to build a battery plant in the US and they say an emphatic NO! And what competitor the US EV market aren't that large anyway. Only in California and West Coast while the rest prefer ICE as most US legacy automakers had succeeded in their lobbying effort. The problem I see is the charging infrastructure is inadequate, mass usage may take until 2030 or more unless Federal gov't intervene and I doubt they will.

Aside from the US, there's not much the politicians in any of the other countries can do, besides scoring economic own goals like Australia. Smarter countries (e.g. NZ) will dodge and fence sit as much as possible. Idiotic countries like the UK and AU will blow off both their feet playing internal politics.
AU is now slowly adjusting the harmful policies put in place by the Coalition government (with very limited wiggle room due to media and US influence), and it's going to take a lot of effort to even begin reversing the damage done.

I have seen no evidence they cancelled any project in north America. That link only mentions the new project in Hungary. The north American announcement is said to be delayed.
