Full on diplomatic collapse of US' standing in Latin America. Its actually shocking how this decline is happening so quickly
South America is a very diverse place. Being anti-American (or left wing) in somewhere like Venezuela has very different connotations to a country like Chile. Argentina and Brazil will likely be US puppets for the foreseeable future. With Lulu in Brazil we'll have to see if Brazil rejoins CELAC.

It is true that countries that are traditionally anti American have become more so.

Ukrainian lawmakers dismissed the country’s ombudsman for human rights, Lyudmyla Denisova, in a no-confidence vote on Tuesday, concluding that she had failed to fulfill obligations including the facilitation of humanitarian corridors and countering the deportation of Ukrainians from occupied territory.

Lawmaker Pavlo Frolov said Ms. Denisova was also accused of making insensitive and unverifiable statements about alleged Russian sex crimes and spending too much time in Western Europe during the invasion.

“The unclear focus of the Ombudsman's media work on the numerous details of ‘sexual crimes committed in an unnatural way’ and ‘rape of children’ in the occupied territories that could not be confirmed by evidence, only harmed Ukraine,” Mr. Frolov said in a Facebook post.

I have little doubt Russia can develop their own equipment if they need to but it might take some time. It was a mistake for them to rely on imports of that to begin with
It is never a mistake to import things to speed things up operationally but fundamental know how in society is always present by related industries that have much higher R&D intensity.
This SUV vehicle is for late summer presentation. The seemless integration of Turbo-Electric hybrid power that give luxury sensation in this weight class of vehicle only Germany can create. and Russia is replicating and manufactured near aerospace industry at much cheaper place.

They are highly reliable products and designed to deal with both extreme weather of Middleast and extreme cold of northern latitudes.
I am not referring to low cost generic stuff for mass market that are one dimensional and limited time use.

It is true that countries that are traditionally anti American have become more so.

Latin America (Central & S America, and the Caribbean) as a group is not getting more anti-American. They are just trying to assert more strategic independence in geopolitics and trade. Both Mexico and Brazil are vying to lead that movement, with Argentina being a dark horse.

May be they have seen the light and are preparing themselves for the transition from a hegemony to a multipolar world. What they are doing is no different from the ASEAN countries. Their Western cultural influence probably makes them appear more explicit and blunt in their speeches than those from ASEAN.

Why do Iran and Russia need to export oil and gas in the first place? I thought they are decently developed countries with diversified industries and advanced technological base.

Was it sheer Iranian and Russian propaganda then? What else would explain the extreme reliance on hydrocarbon exports for these two countries?
You can ask similar question to US. Why does the number 1 developed country export such large amount of low added value product and raw materials?
You can check for yourself here.

The circled products are: petroleum, grains, meat, raw cotton, papers, plastics, scrap metals and wood.

Yes heavily relying on limited industries is not good, but diversifying in low tech industries is not much better. We should not expect such chart for the number 1 developed country.
