fire chief says spate of blazes is due to people burning wood to save money

There are even claims today from a fire chief that a recent spate of blazes around the country is the result of people burning wood in a desperate attempt to keep themselves warm.

'Please don't take the risk by using treated wood on fires. Not only can they produce toxic fumes, but they are also more likely to spit embers when burnt, which could set alight to nearby objects.'

£3,000/month = $3,600/month or ~$42,200/year. This is the estimate for October. The winter chill doesn’t start until 1ish months later. It will be way higher then $3,600/month

People burning treated wood for heating means they are not rural folks but urban folks.

Ukraine turns off Europe-bound gas

Kiev cites ‘force majeure’ to halt a third of Russian transited gas flow to Europe, while Gazprom says there have been no issues that would justify the move

Kupriyanov also said that Gazprom has been notified by Ukraine’s gas company Naftogaz that if Russia continues to supply gas through Sokhranovka, Kiev will reduce the volume at the point of exit by the same amount, effectively confiscating the gas.

Ukraine is resorting to stealing European gas.

It's not £3000/month.

The average energy bill is expected to be the equivalent of £3000 per year

Dude, with Bong Bong & Sarah calling the shots, and with a little help from China, you guys are on the way to the first world.

But it's the complete opposite for the Europeans.... massive hikes in inflation and debt, while productivity and living standards fall, they're returning to the dark ages (but it's all worth it for Ukr democrazy and freedumb!).

Meanwhile, even Qatar is slapping them left and right... LOL

Qatar also wants to contractually prevent Germany from rerouting the LNG deliveries to other European states, and this measure is not welcome by the EU, the sources said.

One of the sources told the publication that the LNG deal between Qatar and Germany “is not expected to happen soon.” :p
Qutar must have demanded that its sovereign rights over the proceeds of the sale must be guaranteed by Germany in return for Qutar guaranteed supplies. Every country is now seeking insurance to protect its assets against Western unilateral actions. Individuals may not be able to do much but exporting countries of essential commodities do have some leverage. The world of finance has been blemished permanently in the West, Singapore, Tokyo, and Seoul. All those sanctions have serious repercussions.

I wonder if the conversations behind closed doors is as civil as the press releases make them. Do Chinese diplomats let it loose or do they refrain from "stronger" language like they do publicly to come across as civilized? A lot of these allied countries of the US that try to convince China of something I can see can be answered with, "Then don't be a b*tch of the US!" There's a lot of news recently of odd pairing of countries forming alliances without the US. They're already allies all under the US so why declare them? It's like Japan declaring they were going to create their own international infrastructure bank to compete with China's Belt and Road. It's a trick because Japan will be taking orders from the US. Other countries are so open to China because they don't trust the US and that's a road block for the US to sway countries to turn away from China. Japan is being used to fool other countries that it isn't the US behind it. That's what's happening when you see these lesser-than-the-US American allies having meetings with China. They hated Trump because Trump hated them yet they will still blindly follow what Trump tells them to do. That's the problem with the West and allied countries. They think everyone else is dumb to think they would be fooled. The West is not full of independent countries as they want people to believe.
