you can mobilize 100k troops along the border, don't say anything, it's intimidation. but if you make demands, and your demands are not met, then withdraw is back down.
Putin is German speaking and his press secretary is Turkish speaking. it is to create such prolong situation that other side emotionally attached to it. that emotional attachment to Syria made Turkey and Germany accept millions of refugees and countless money. now same template is applied to Ukraine. They want to see how many billions and weopons can be supplied by threatening invasion. It is like inviting opponent to a ring by telling him bring on every thing. The force structure created around Ukraine will not withdraw except for routine rotations.

The U.S. foreign policy blob is in a conundrum in what to do with the Ukraine dilemma of their own making versus their own designated strategic number 1 threat that's China. Here we have Eldrige Colby pleading to those who would listen to his advice that for God sake men, it's all about China!!!

Umm, abandoning NATO strengthens China's position (since the EU will have little incentive to play ball with us Americans on China policy).

The burden of being the Hegemon.
You got to be strong everywhere and keep the aura of "invincibility".
It is absolutely impossible for the US to allow its global reputation take such a potentially huge hit by Russia in case it caves.

Ukraine Gambit: US Attempting to Destroy Russia

NewsReal with Joe & Niall - 24 January 2022

In this week's NewsReal, Joe and Niall discuss the almighty tensions building between the US and Russia over Ukraine, explaining that the key to understanding 'why this, and why now?' lies in American paranoia about increasing Russian economic and ideological influence in Europe as a whole.

The Americans and the British have been pumping weapons and 'advisors' into Ukraine for the last seven years, apparently with a view to helping Kiev recapture' the breakaway Donbass republics and Crimea, thereby forcing a military response from Russia, and providing the 'justification' the Anglo-Americans seek to, effectively, ban Russia from global trade - with disastrous economic ramifications for Europe and beyond.

Will war break out in some form? It's possible, and it depends on just how far beyond the pale the US regime has become. The greater threat to us all, however, is the global economic FUBAR (Fucked Up Beyond All Repair) that will result from the US regime pulling what amounts to a 'financial Samson Option' that -- it hopes -- will 'reset' the world back to 1945, when the USA stood tall amid an economic wasteland...

The US is a big threat against China's reunification. Actions are needed right now.

Pilot Ejects After F-35 Lightning II ‘Landing Mishap’ on USS Carl Vinson in South China Sea

An F-35C Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter had a “landing mishap” on the deck of USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70) on Monday in the South China Sea, the Navy announced.

The F-35C Lightning II, which is assigned to Carrier Air Wing 2, was conducting routine flight operations in the South China Sea when the mishap occurred. The plane’s pilot “safely ejected” and is in stable condition, according to a Navy release.

Seven sailors were injured, with three sent to a medical facility in Manila, Philippines. Those three sailors are now in stable condition. Four sailors were treated aboard Carl Vinson and three of them have been released.

The mishap, including the cause, is under investigation. The Navy did not provide details on the status of the aircraft.

Let all witness how stronk the Uncle Sam is when it's put under real test... all these decades it just smacked those goat herders... I wish Russia and China have agreement to open two fronts simultaneously to stretch Uncle Sam at max.... if Russia goes into Ukraine, maybe time for China to take back Taiwan. The world will be much better when the US takes care only its own country. We don't need an illegal self-appointed sheriff to oversee this globe!!!

The U.S. has reached the limits of it's power. In the pursuit of trying to be everywhere and anywhere it'll ended up going nowhere or getting stuck at a place it didn't prepare to be at.

Eldrige Colby and his acolytes in American Foreign policy circles are already sounding the possibility and reality where Europe will be left on it's own security wise. They're arguing for greater European involvement and defense spending for the protection of the continent. They're getting frustrated that EU doesn't have the large capacity of strategic lift and other important military assets required for the crisis (of their own making) in Ukraine.

It sounds like EU is going to get the Afghanistan treatment which is rather pathetic since the E.U. Defense structure was deliberately made weak by the U.S. in order for the U.S. Defense Industrial juggernaut to be the main beneficiary of any defense related windfall in the continent. A dependent EU to the U.S. means a perpetual client state for American defense industry and more...Which brings me to my realization that I don't think America has really operated on a coherent grand strategy since the fall of the Soviet Union. America went blind and became arrogant of it's perceived role in the dissolution of Soviet Union and drank the Kool aid of Francis Fukuyama's pronouncement of "End of History."

The US is a big threat against China's reunification. Actions are needed right now.
But which action must take precedent? If the U.S. were to take a much more pointed action against Russia in Ukraine then it'll be spending and exhausting itself along with precious limited military hardwares and personnel that would have maybe been prioritized for the Asia-Pacific theatre. And the U.S. would be ill advised to underestimate her collision with Russia a peer competitor that has the geographical advantage, the history, culture, and people to essentially succeed in this contest. Russia ain't Iraq, Libya, or Syria weak countries with weak to pathetic military capabilities not to mention incompetent military and civilian leaders at almost all levels.

The only question or curious thing I have in mind is wether this latest Russian demand was formulated and consulted with Chinese leadership because so far according to what I can understand and analyze, Russia is having the strategic and operational advantage against the U.S. Russia made a move knowing full well how America would react at every possible step to the point that America must do something tangible otherwise it'll risk losing an enormous amount of "FACE/CREDIBILITY" with E.U. and essentially NATO. But if they do take action it'll hamper and impede their ability to press China in Asia-Pacific since their partners in AUKUS, QUAD are all reliant and subservient to American dictat and military capabilities.

Australia is too militarily far and relatively weak to act as the Deputy in the region against China. Japan? LOL India? They're bogged down in Ladakh. Vietnam? nope...forget about the Philippines...so who's next?
