Norway blocks the sale of the Naval Strike Missile (NSM) to Malaysia days before delivery. Malaysia is furious and is asking for a refund of around 95% of that USD145M contact value that it had already paid.

The Norwegian government restricted exports to "close allies" only, and Malaysia is not one of them (obviously). Apparently the NSM contain American-made components, so America probably had a hand in this. This now leaves Malaysia with no AshM for it's newer frigates.

Time to go shopping for missiles again! Hopefully Norway refunds. If not, then that's gonna suck.

Uh, I joined this forum a few months ago intending to only/mostly post on China's space activities, but these reportings, if they're anywhere close to being accurate, are extremely worrying for the entire world. I know that quite a few people around here hold negative views of the Indian government, but I think this is a case where I hope China can put aside political differences and help the Indian population in any way it can to alleviate the human suffering. These climae-change induced effects will only become more widespread as time pass.
Only real way to help this is massive green energy investment especially small scale solar to power air conditioning. Larger projects will run into the beaurocratic quicksand that is the very hallmark of the Indian state.

Indian heat is particularly deadly due to high humidity, IIRC. ALso being South of the Himalayas doesn't help.

From May 18 to 21, the China Coast Guard hosted the Working Level Meeting of the 22nd Heads of Asian Coast Guard Agencies Meeting (HACGAM) in Quanzhou in east China's Fujian Province. Over 80 delegates from 16 member agencies, two international organizations and two observer agencies attended the meeting.

Zhang Jianzhong, head of the law enforcement department of the China Coast Guard, said the meeting forged a consensus on the importance of strengthening multilateral cooperation on maritime law enforcement. CGTN spoke to delegates from Bahrain, Malaysia and Thailand on how maritime cooperation could mitigate shared challenges

Why don't they just buy Chinese missiles to begin with?
