The fact that RR is Britain's crown jewel and yet RR is not capable of developing 6th gen engine without partnering with AVIO and IHI answers your question on if Britain has the technology don't you think?
In my opinion, both GCAP and FCAS are just pretending to work hard.

They were originally 5th gen fighter jet programs, and only because of the development of 6th gen fighter jets by China and the US did they have to announce that they were going to develop it.

But in reality, they just don't have such development capability. Now they are just stalling for time in this limbo.

lol. Saudi atleast not have joined Abrahamic accord but what about others who joined it. this Iran and Turkey and so many others in previous era has widely cooperated and still do inside Western firms. The greater US-Royal cooperation the faster decline of so many countries.

This is going to be a trend everywhere.

China may not have been especially dependant on Venezuela, but Venezuela itself wasn't the point either.
The point was that US now holds absolute dominion over decisions by all states of western hemisphere (Canada pretends it isn't Latino and it doesn't apply to them, but explanation...won't take too long).
Panama, Mexico, Columbia ... like, even in Brazil(!) question of nukes got raised up again; as things stand now, they have no way to physically resist US coercion(they for obvious reasons aren't exactly happy on Donroe).

Frankly speaking, this will be a major test of popular Chinese "do nothing - win" meme. B/c even if ~3% of oil supply(Venezuela) were negligible - half a trillion of trade with Latin America (including major metal dependancies) isn't negligible at all.

I am not a hardcore enough SW fan, but if i remember correctly, Empire was more of a confederacy in all but name, as individual planets had powerful local forces, and could easily muster forces to resist imperial forces; Empire had only one bet to become a proper nation(death star), and it went poof.
In comparison, US states...do of course have their national guards, sometimes quite numerous. but those are semi-fake by design; you can't take them out of US force and resist central government, not without many years of work.
honestly I think people for whatever reason are expecting too much of China.
remember China still has one of it's provinces (Taiwan) occupied by a US proxy force and China still can't pull the trigger and liberate this occupied territory for fear of possible combined US-European-Japanese political and economic (and perhaps even military) retaliation. only when Taiwan is regained under full CPC rule (no one country two systems BS) can China finally say they achieved full rejuvenation.

so why do people expect China to have the capability to go half away around the world to protect Chinese investments? that will not happen. at least not until the full rejuvenation is achieved and until Chinese Destroyers and Aircraft carriers are sailing near every Chinese investment protecting it. till then Chinese oversees investments are open season for any one to steal.

Rolls Royce is the global leader alongside USA in commercial Turbofan Engine sector but the problem Britain currently facing is deindustrialization and lack of production of critical components at home. RR heavily dependent on global suppliers for critical parts/components.

Here is the chart of Trent XMB suppliers.

they are still extremely good in Engine design but for 6th gen machine like adaptive cycle Engine they need support from Japan and other suppliers for precision components and obviously USA.
