Would it be a failed coup since Erdogan is now back in Istanbul and he said law enforcement is arresting military officers? YouTube is live about the coup... Erdogan said he is prepared to die...
Erdogan called for his supporters to fill the streets and protest the coup attempt, so unless coup leaders are willing to order their troops to shoot, and they obey, then the coup will fail. But, if the soldiers shoot, then all hell breaks loose and we'll see civil war in Turkey. At that point, NATO might intervene. Might.

the rebels announced they would keep on fighting (which now means to death, I guess) ... it's probably based on the sentence
However, in an emailed statement from the Turkish military General Staff's media office address, the pro-coup faction said it was determinedly still fighting.

Honestly Jura, what is your problem? I have posted the exact same link in the post above yours. Is it that you must be the one that posts the latest headline?

in the morning I missed this:
Long overdue, Turks are sick of having their freedoms shackled by an extremist, about time we got our allies back. This is likely in response to the nightmare in Europe, and make no mistake, it is a nightmare. No one on this forum cares more deeply about freedom to worship than I, but when you seek to impose your religion on others by force, you have introduced a religious Tyrant.
bro I think I know what you mean, but I'm sorry to tell you apparently not that many Turks share your opinion:

(it's tough the soldiers who had given up were then beaten up by crowd ... I now saw pictures, those soldiers were obviously conscripts)
