"LENS II, the most advanced wind tunnel in the US, has simulated flights up to Mach 7, with the simulation lasting 30 milliseconds. In contrast, the JF-22’s average runtime could reach 130 milliseconds, with a much higher top speed, Han said."

“Our experiment time is much longer than theirs, so the aircraft model can be larger than theirs, and the experiments can be more advanced than theirs. This determines our leading position in the world.”

All thanks to this pioneering man; an American turned accused of spying for China:

"Qian Xuesen, father of China’s rocket programme, coined the term “hypersonic” in a 1946 paper after he discovered that the behaviour of air flow followed completely different rules at five times faster than sound."

Qian “dug a big hole at the time, and now people from all over the world are jumping into the hole,” said Han, a fourth-generation researcher with the hypersonic research programme started by Qian 60 years ago.

@manqiangrexue To continue our conversation more contstructively, i think PRC at now is on applying the best bealace between capitalism/ptivatism and social/public developement, exploring the limits you can say. Currency manipulation, digital currency, different level of reforms, different reforms applied at perfecture level, capital is present in every aspect of economy, but in a different percentage depending on the sector. Main differnce is on politics. CPC has 90 million members but has also hundreds of millions of civil servants like SOE's employees, military etc. In every major foreign company there's a workers union directly controlled by CPC. You know...a government union inside a multinational. These people are workers connected to the government. This is a bit tricky of course as we observe working systems like Mr. Ma's 996 going on in China and this is not good. And we can also imagine the working conditions in special economic zones during 80's, 90's. Thankfully we can also observe in the hi-tech sector other SOE's and private companies are thriving. ZTE is a SOE, HUAWEI is a form of cooperative, which is very interesting phenomenon which could provide employees a more democratic, cooperative enviroment to thrive. Maybe i'm a little bit optimist but i believe that cooperativism(not collectivism) will prevail to monopoly capitalism as a natural reaction and consequence. And Huawei is thriving and almost top-to-bottom despite the sanctions of these jealous people :p Xiaomi, SMIC...PRC is working very well we have to admit it. Somewhere i've read that another SOE is making carrier rockets Elon Musk style of appliance, commercial and "low budget" for internet, meteorological, communication satellites, using a civil version of DF-31 system complete with TEL. And it's the best option than any private space company in China. Trains and ships built by SOE's, buses, tracks, cars, aircrafts. In every part of the world there is a major appliance made by a Chinese SOE. We will win comrades HAHAHA

@Bellum_Romanum continuing from the Australia discussion, you have a point about this being a long term plan by China on Australia. However my comment was also a comment for Australia in the short term, 5 years.

The thing is that this could be extented to another 5 years if the US destabilizes the area where the new mine will be constructed in Africa which is supposed to replace Australia

I think we both know that the US is capable of doing this with little-to-zero consequences to it
