China Puts Export Controls on Nexperia. it has been banned by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce from exporting products made in China, including those produced by its subcontractors, after the Dutch government took over the company using a Cold-War-era law to secure Europe’s chip supply. Nexperia said it is seeking an exemption from the export ban, which could affect Dutch access to its chips. The company operates an 80,000-square-meter assembly site in Guangdong province near Hong Kong, as well as fabrication, assembly, and testing facilities in Germany, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Britain

well done

Good move. Nexperia might have to shut down operations or part of them depending on how important is their assembly site in Guangdong

Let's kill the company

Good first step, follow-on retaliation need to be applied to cause at least 10 times as much damage to Dutch owned business interests, at a minimum.

There should also be a scotched earth policy with regards to the key individuals involved. They should be added to the Pompeo list of economically cancelled individuals where any company that has any deals with them or their family members are subject to secondary sanctions by China.

Interesting that it says this happened earlier this month. The theft wouldn’t be public knowledge until Wingtech posted it an few days ago and neither would the export controls be known until Nexperia complained about it today.

The Chinese Ministry of Commerce issued an export control notice earlier this month

It's actually pretty amazing how they managed to build a rocket with 5,000 ton of takeoff mass but can only put 35 tons to LEO, and even that's debatable since it hasn't been able to reach orbit with basically no payload to date. For context Long March 5 has a theoretical LEO capacity of 35 tons, lol

But of course V3 will solve everything, and they will do so by somehow adding 400 extra tons of propellant (half of LM5's takeoff mass) into a 1m height by 10m diameter cylinder

Starship was never really designed to land astronauts on the moon. Elon has managed to scam NASA and the US taxpayer out of billions to fund his private need to deploy Starlink satellites on the pretense that it is helping the manned lunar mission.

Port fees become the new tariffs in US-China maritime showdown
Where China’s new fees become thorny is in its opaque US ownership stipulation, something that has already seen American directors at some shipping boards relinquish their roles. Ships whose owning entity has US persons holding 25% or more of equity, voting rights or board seats are being targeted by China
“The extension of financial ownership and board seats will possibly catch many listed companies given the likelihood that a large chunk of shares will be in nominee accounts with large US investment banks and mutual funds,” Dr Roar Adland, head of research at broker SSY, suggested in a recent LinkedIn post, adding: “Add in any company partly financed by US private equity, leasing companies, or even private companies where the principals have secondary US citizenship, and it is clear that the share of the world fleet potentially ensnared by these ‘special fees’ is substantial.”
