Live example of hard power generating its own soft power.

Did China say this? No. China just bitchslapped the Americans hard with the RE move and now the Americans are scrambling to figure out what they did wrong to deserve the slap.

Hehe ...

Okay, I had the exact same idea, I wanted to write a post about bitch slap, but refrained from doing so, haha! The exact same words, gwad dayman!

The Americans are the bitch slappers of the world, who just got bitch slap like that! :p

Cue the ou's and ah's and assorted gasps!

What is very interesting, we might even use the word, delicious, is that the bitch slap extended to everybody.

Now some, are in no position to fight back. Looking at you von der Layen.

So the vassal will look to Big Daddy America for a response to the bitch slap they all collectively received.

What if Daddy America has to concede a point or two here?

Would that drive some sort of wedge? Would people lose confidence?

Answers we do not know at the moment.

:D

Great reading/analyses -my concern as well at this time if USA's/west industries do start stopping/collapsing(and this is such a blow) the ripple effects would cascade throughout their economies-wrecking them and as I/many have said the temptation to use the "war card"/kinetic attack now upon China while they can maybe a path an irrational, demented ,hateful man like Trump might just employ lest he lose everything-I hope/pray that Beijing is ready for anything and the westoids will devour themselves.

I think China is managing how much to let them have. If they are facing sudden total collapse from a full rare earths ban, then they have nothing left to lose and chances of a desperation-fueled war are substantially higher. If they are slowly choked off and atrophy, falling behind due to insufficient supply, they at least have something to protect and something to lose so war is much less likely and eventual acceptance of a diminished global role is more palatable.

Just my opinion.

1. For a truce, there is still too much hostility emanating from Washington DC. So screw them.

2. Remember that movie The Silence of the Wolves? Or was it The Silence of the Lambs? Forget, but you know what I am talking about. It is what Hanibal Lecture said as Anthony Hopkins was great, teaching that young lesbian Jody Foster, think in first principles, what is the matter in of itself? Words to that effect.

So what is going on here?

This is a ongoing process, these restrictions, this move is for the future.

Therefore, I have to expect the CCP anticipates something coming soon. Since rare earths are used in weapons production, that is a telling sign.

Prof Mearsheimer said that the war in Ukraine will come to an end, but there probably will be no peace, as those Ukrainians will be upset and still attack as domestic terrorist inside the Donbass region. That makes a lot of sense.

Now if people are being this hostile, they could turn on others later on. So I like to think of this as a pre-emptive move.
Tbh I never thought a Russo Ukraine war could happen despite being aware of the conflict and covert ops in the Donbas thanks to telegram and the saker, I don’t want to be alarmist but we can’t discount a major conflict occurring before the end of the decade.

Before the century of humiliation, Chinese goods such as tea, porcelain and lacquerware were highly prized and sought after by the west, especially amongst the royal houses of Europe. Go to any European royal palace museum and have a look at their chinoiserie. The piratical Anglo empire and their American cousins imposed opium vis gunboat diplomacy just to get those goods as well as access to the Chinese market. Fast forward two centuries and history rhymes. Again, the Anglos and their army of sycophants and sepoys come to China desiring to plunder her once more but modern PRC is no Qing dynasty, and hypersonics and lasers are eager to conclude that chapter of the century of humiliation.

The very term "chinoiserie" (means Chinese Stuff) even "fine china?" not heavy crude stoneware is a testament to China's valuable products and Brits wanted to pay in worthless/deadly opium grown in their slave vassal india-then as now such valuables must be guarded by lead, steel and an iron will and brains. I expect another anti-Chinese 8 Nation Alliance again-history repeating itself but not exactly I pray as this time China will destroy them.

Ishiba statement tries to address Japan’s failure to avoid war
In his message, Ishiba acknowledged that he “also inherits” the historical understanding expressed in past statements that referred to Japan’s “colonial rule and aggression,” “deep remorse” and “heartfelt apology.”
Ishiba first pointed out a structural flaw in the prewar Imperial Constitution, which lacked the principle of “civilian control”—the idea that politics must be superior to the military.

He then analyzed three key areas: “politics,” “parliament” and “media,” citing specific historical examples.

Regarding politics, he referred to the 1935 controversy over the “Emperor organ theory” proposed by constitutional scholar and House of Peers member Tatsukichi Minobe.

This theory, under the Imperial Constitution, held that sovereignty resided in the state as a legal entity, and the emperor governed as “the highest organ of the state” in accordance with the Constitution.

Ishiba noted that the Keisuke Okada Cabinet at the time “yielded to military demands and rejected the previously mainstream Emperor organ theory,” stating that “the government lost control over the military.”

Regarding parliament, Ishiba cited the 1940 expulsion of Lower House member Takao Saito after he delivered an “anti-military speech” criticizing the war.

Ishiba emphasized that “parliament also lost its function to control the military.”
Regarding the media, Ishiba stated that from around the time of the Manchurian Incident in 1931, the press “shifted to actively supporting the war.”

He pointed out that “newspapers widely reported” the Kwantung Army’s occupation of Chinese territory, “which mesmerized many citizens and further fueled nationalism.”

Based on this analysis, the prime minister summarized the “lessons for today.”

He acknowledged that postwar Japan had established civilian control, but warned that “it is merely a system, and without proper implementation, it is meaningless.”

He wrote, “We must not repeat a history where emotional and spiritual judgments are prioritized over calm and rational decisions, causing the nation to err in its course.”

Need my sleep now but I couldn't resist this usual Japanese verbal diarrhea utterance euphemistic-quasi-pseudo-apology that is so contextual and can be read/misread/silent dog whistle to their target audience-hoping ,maybe it's a subtle message to PM Sanae Takaichi NOT to piss-off/enrage the Chinese during her incoming tenure as PM.Ishiba knows that Beijing is in no mood to deal with nippon crap and the deadly hardware that was so prominently displayed on Sept 3rd promised not merely Japan's future defeat but her destruction-wise man for once.

This cannot be called an "apology". He is just trying to tell the right-wing forces that it is not time to "bet on the fate of the country" yet.

If he's just trying to "manage" them such that they don't do some thing rash that would provoke a serious reaction from China, that's one thing. If he's one of them and they think Japan will ever actually have a golden opportunity to "bet on the fate of the country" again, that day will never come.
