I don't even bother much South Korea getting mad at China.

Deep down we know the reason they say stuff isn't even because of USAID or whatever. It's coz China is now the cool kid and has taken it's spot. What "cool" stuff even comes from South Korea now? Kpop is getting old now. When people see South Korea now they see it as Joseon Hell with low birth rates. Way different from the initial paradise.

This topic had been discussed by several people on several platforms. China's GDP PPP is so ridiculously understated. It is just incredible. @doggydogdo formerly shared on this forum that how the PPP adjustment ratio for PRC implied that PRC is more expensive than Singapore on average. This is starting to get the attention of economics researchers too. Clothing is supposedly more expensive in China than in the USA.

Is the above an excerpt from "CF40 Policy Brief", which concludes that both of China's consumption and GDP are underestimated?

China's Consumption Is Not Nearly as Low as It Appears: CF40 Policy Brief

While we are at it, here is Glenn's rebuttal of Michael Pettis' nonsense.

Since China's domestic market is 10x bigger than America's, there is little incentive for Chinese battery makers to set up joint ventures in the US.

ICE is now accepting 10,000 applications. With the funding they've received from Trump's BBB, they are now officially the largest law enforcement agency in American history.

I do have to chuckle at the salary, I believe its actually even lower than In-n-Out burger's. But the ranks will be filled with rednecks and incels who just want the opportunity to brutalize non-Whites for fun anway.

Indian regulator bars U.S. firm Jane Street from accessing securities market, impounds $566 million in manipulation probe

The Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has barred Jane Street Group from accessing India’s securities market, according to an order posted on the regulator’s website on Friday.

The order stated that the U.S. trading firm’s “entities are restrained from accessing the securities market and are further prohibited from buying, selling or otherwise dealing in securities, directly or indirectly.”

The regulator also issued an interim order to impound over 48.4 billion Indian rupees ($566.3 million) from Jane Street in alleged illegal gains.

It further stated that banks have been directed to ensure that “no debits are made, without permission of SEBI,” for accounts held by Jane Street’s entities either jointly or individually.

The firm allegedly used various strategies to artificially influence India’s benchmark Nifty 50
index, which tracks the country’s top 50 companies, to profit from significantly larger positions in index options.

SEBI said that repeated instances of manipulative trading continued even after an explicit caution letter was issued in February 2025.

The Indian regulator had previously expressed concerns over practices such as algorithmic trading, which SEBI said in a September 2024 report allowed proprietary traders and foreign portfolio investors to make 610 billion Indian rupees in profits in FY 2024, while retail investors and other market participants lost the same amount during that period.

CNBC has reached out to SEBI and Jane Street for comment.

I'm not even shocked at this point what India does to foreigners.

Jane Street the quant prop trading firm has made a lot of money of options on the retail market in India. Since options are too hard for most people to get, it's basically gambling against a casino betting on the price of an index. And most times, Indians lose. And they will blame Jane street for it.
