What makes Singapore know anything better about China than other foreigners? The problem with the collective westerners including Americans and Singaporeans are that you refuse to get the raw data from the country in question because you take for granted that non-western countries would be lying while western source never lies and always reliable even though you have no access. It is like a person born blind trying to teach people with perfect eye-sights how to paint. This is not limited to western perception of China, but everywhere outside western bubble.
Absolutely nothing. Speaking as Chinese Singaporean, many here have a perception of china that rooted in self-racism, arrogance and a strong belief that the ideology of the anglo sphere is superior to anything else in the world.

Many still believe that china is stuck in the 1980s, and that the mainland owes Singapore for helping with economic development and prosperity, using deng Xiaoping s visit to Singapore and the fact that many Chinese government officials came to SG to study from LKY. These two cases have led to Singaporeans developing a superiority complex against mainlanders.

And yes, like what many others say, Singapore media is at best neutral to china, most of the times it's usually negative, with copy-pasted articles and headlines from anglo media being passed off as local. I wouldn't listen too much on CNA or straits time when it comes to affairs in the mainland

The entire Chinese Internet is systematically broken & polluted. The more I browse videos on Douyin (Chinese Tiktok), the more negative feelings I have. So many fake/exaggerated/unconfirmed news posted by influencer just for click bait, meanwhile comment section is full of hate/ironic speech. A propaganda war is going on under almost all videos, not only between countries (mainly China vs US & the West), but also between major tech giants, genders, and between goverment policies/officials & the public. Sometimes you can't judge a comment is sent from a paid bot or a genuine voice. Meanwhile, the more Tiktok censors, the more inexplicit uncensored content are comming out.

Atmosphere in Chinese social media platforms is no better than that of X or Youtube now. :(

I'm finding English content on X is more pro-China than Chinese content on Chinese platforms these days. WTF?

Last year a group of 70 students from Duke University visited China on a study trip. They were pestered by state-run media pressuring them to say nice things about China, according to an online account by one disgruntled student. A camera crew, she recalled, “taught me to recite a poem in Mandarin that included the line ‘I love China’.” As any teenager could tell you, China would be much cooler if it did not try so hard.
[If this is true], I think the media, culture, tourism department has a lot to improve.
I think many people in the tourism, media department are very old-schoolers. Fresh minds needed in the age of information and soft power. Just look at official news sites like Xinhua etc., The design of that website is from 2005, I am pretty sure deepseek can build a web design better and more modern than whatever the hell they are using right now.

The inefficiency and institutional rot do show up in one form or another in other parts of the system that needs reform. But it's not being prioritised for obvious reasons. Tourism should be included in China's information/informatize warfare or war of deception a.k.a. soft power to fully nullify the entire Western media and disinformation that's aided by the Jai Hinds unhinged that's unleashed against China

Propaganda war is going on under almost all videos, not only between countries (mainly China vs US & the West), but also between major tech giants, genders, and between goverment policies/officials & the public.

Go to videos about these, then check out the comments, including (especially) bullet comments & normal comment section.

Topic keywords: (For example)
Countries/Regions: Taiwan, Iran, Israel, Russia, Ukraine, North Korea
Tech giants: Huawei, Xiaomi, Apple, Nvidia, TSMC, SpaceX [These part has the most nonsense I have ever seen]
Genders: Marriage/Divorce rate, Hotspot sensitive incidents like boys suicide themselves for girls, Girls ask for incredible high living expenses from boys or ask for break up
Govement: GDP/Income growth, Labor law enforcement (workers in a quite range of small factories are forced to suffer from extreme working/living conditions/time, to reduce cost & deal with foreign sactions, however their bosses live very well), Possible official corrupt cases that are in investigation.

To avoid easy censorship, many negative comments are shown in bullet ones, also in an extreme inexplicit/ironic expression, that newcomers are interpreting them as positive ones until read them multiple times.

Also, even in total positive events' comment section, always come out words like "遥遥领先" or "赢麻了", which are totally stigmatized. As soon as these words come out, the comment section becomes a total mess, so intense just like X posts about recent Indo-Pak War.

China, ASEAN conclude negotiations on Version 3.0 China-ASEAN FTA
The MOC said CAFTA 3.0 will establish an inclusive, modern, comprehensive, and mutually beneficial free trade agreement.

It introduces nine new chapters covering areas such as the digital and green economies, supply chain connectivity, standards and technical regulations, customs procedures, sanitary and phytosanitary measures, competition and consumer protection, support for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, and economic and technical cooperation.

These additions aim to deepen regional economic integration, enhance industrial and supply chain collaboration, and reflect the evolving trade landscape.
Next, China and ASEAN will actively advance their respective ratification procedures to formally sign the upgraded CAFTA 3.0 protocol.
