@Petrolicious88 my take on the subject, there are too many interest group vying for their pet project, there are the Neo cons which want an Iranian solution meaning regime change the other the Atlanticist who want Nato in Ukraine and the to regain the Donbass Region and especially Crimea and finally those who want to subdue China. The problem, they don't have the resources especially with the Pandemic. Biden had no concrete plan and action and that is dangerous ,any misstep may led to war. At least there are people in power who see the problem and trying to rein in those interest groups. The united front being put forward by China , Russia and Iran had shock them BIG TIME, they can't bully their way either to sanction or threat of war. Their bluff had been called and they had no answer but to accept the evitable. And that for me is a sign of shift happening geopolitically. You read news that the US is negotiating intensely with the Iranian, giving in all the Iranian demand, the same can be said of the Russian with the Ukraine being left to fend for herself and now a peace gesture or a reset with China. They are basically buying time. But make no mistake, nothing has changed in terms of their stance towards China.
My conclusion there will be a deadlock and the EU will push back and become a Strategically independence entity meaning a third bloc, while the US with the other 4eyes (NZ will be absent) plus Japan will form another bloc. This strategic realignment will force the ASEAN and SK to be neutral. What about India? she will remain an outsider and want to play as king maker, its a wise strategic decision on their part, but the problem is trust neither the US nor China trusted her.
