We will see. Germany is in a very good position now, though. It has built credibility with Russia and China, while also gaining huge amounts of money from China and having to keep the appearances of being an "ally" with the US.
If Germany is smart, they will keep playing the same game while also leaving the door open for an Eurasian Axis if the EU ends up destroying itself(very low, but non zero chance of happening)

That symbolism is why the American is so earnest to stop the Nord stream project and the BRI. Its vassal system will collapse cause the American can't afford to maintain it.
