One thing caught my eye was the Adaptable Deck Launcher from BAE proposal it uses all mk41VLS canisters very interesting the one shown there was with the quad packed ESSM but it can be used with all of them

I prefer the last with 32 or 64 cell's :p

It is great ! doing16 ESSMs or eventualy 4 LRASM a very long stick* ! sure Freedom can host it but i have a doubt with Indepence narrrow bow the first can have 8 Harpoons 2nd only 4 for mass reasons IIRC but for size ?

*But 4 AShMs remains few in general 8 some classes especialy Asians, Russians have 16 and in theory in versatile VLS the load is almost unlimited ofc not in reality with other SAMs etc... but really possible 16 or more.

In more aluminium for a Combattant not realy good !

Despite it LCS have 3 interesting capacities can be good ASW ships with towed sonar and 2 very good MH-60R
Fast 45 kn but range limited
And with waterjet as a missile boat can going in very shallow seas remains an arguable interest for Pacific...

The Adaptable Deck Launcher proposal only has 4 canisters at present would be good for quad ESSM or my favorite 4 ASROC each but according to BAE it can use any missile used in the mk41

keep dreaming about some vaporware and in the meantime check this:

Overall, though, he was optimistic about achieving IOC by the end of September.

“We’ve proven that the systems work,” he said.
“Will we have issues every now and then? Yes we will. Some of these systems have been in development a long time, it’s time to bring them together and do the end-to-end run and prove them out.”

:

The LCS program has been incorporating changes in the design as the lessons learned in operations are absorbed.
...
■ LCS 9 is the first to be built that incorporated the fixes to the high-speed clutch failure problem, which has slowed delivery of subsequent ships as the shipyard worked to incorporate the fixes.
which apparently means they realized an LCS should be able to sail under her own power

■ LCS 27 will be built with space to incorporate the future Over-the-Horizon (OTH) Missile planned for the LCS.
this is probably related to talking about 'beefed up' LCSs (if their 'beefing up' ever happened, it would be about twenty years after the first of them were commissioned)
EDIT now I looked it up, so that I don't forget myself about that part (charts inside) ... it's been three years:
