I've been waiting for evidence of the PLA integrating new PGMs among in service aircraft for over a decade now.

We can always speculate about what the PLA isn't showing us, or what they may have in testing, but the most iron clad way of confirming a weapon is in service is seeing evidence of active in service frontlone aircraft carrying it across multiple different frontline units over time.

Anything less, and it is not particularly worth going "omg" over.

That's my own threshold, and it's worked for me pretty well.

Operationally, why would you want a JH-7A (or J-16) to carry PGMs like JDAMs or SDBs anymore?

A JH-7A is better off carrying more fuel tanks and improve its endurance, whilst directing swarms of loitering Shaheed-type drones which are just waiting for an opportune target.

It doesn't matter if $20K Shaheed drones get shot down by SAMs, because the SAMs cost far more than each Shaheed.

And going back to our previous discussion on the critical hours of a Taiwan invasion scenario where a brigade-sized counterattack is conducted against a landing beachhead. You're better off having swarms of drones on call, rather than relying on heavyweight strike fighters (with little endurance and therefore requires a lot of aircraft) to drop enough munitions.

And prior to patchwork's departure, he did mention how the Taiwanese air defence system would be unable to operate effectively against MALE/HALE drones, never mind Shaheed-type drone.

Tis the future (and now) of warfare.

isn't that Y9's work? I don't think JH-7 have the ability nor they are willing to install new features like that

New low-visibility paint scheme, which appears to be exactly the same as before, except the serials and the words "Chinese Navy" are painted in white.
