I asked a similar question on the engine thread a while back. Someone answered that the WS-13 is dead, because China is focusing on the WS-19 now. Which does make sense.

Interestingly, I heard a few weeks ago from a close source in the PAF that the Block III would be getting an engine upgrade... I thought he was mistaken (because the WS-13E is dead)... Apparently he wasn't mistaken, and the upgrade was this RD-93MA.... (BTW, he also told me some more good news, but I'm not gonna share it because it's just on the PAF's wish-list right now and it may not happen.)
Why would the WS-13 be dead? If I recall, the last news I heard about it was good. Where is your source for this? WS-19 is still quite a long way out from being operational, just like the WS-15.

How the hell would I know? I didn't make that claim. If I was an expert on Chinese engine developments I wouldn't be asking people about it on this forum.

Why don't you just post the question again on the engine thread and see what people say? Maybe there's an update.

Russia and China are brothers. Russia will sell the RD-93MA license to China in the near future.

Highly unlikely with the WS-13 being more or less a development (and I'm not sure if a licenced) of the RD-93.

Well below is the (wish) list from the rumors (Good News) .....

  • Stronger wings for 2 additional hard points
  • Integrated IRST
  • Additional usage of composite materials

Umm, no.

It seems the integrated IRST is already ruled out, and more composites is fairly logical.

Anyways, let's just wait for confirmation instead of playing whack-a-mole.

I was asking you to provide the specific posting where you got the below information from. We hear information all the time, much of which turns out to be false which is why I asked you to give the source of this information.

Hi sir I believe IRST will be mounted on Chin as I do remember there was a video of some top notch PAF officer
who was briefing about have a hard point chin mounted so my thought is IRST looks like the only thing which can
be attached to chin easily
thank you
