PHILIPPINE SEA (Nov. 11, 2019) Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Lt. j. g. Momo Dokite, assigned to the Hyuga-class helicopter destroyer JS Hyuga (DDH 181), uses a pair of binoculars on the port bridge wing of the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Milius (DDG 69) as the ship sails in formation with a surface contact ship from the JMSDF during Annual Exercise (ANNUALEX) 19. Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15 is currently participating in ANNUALEX 19, an annual, bilateral exercise which further develops coordination and interoperability of the premier alliance between the U.S. Navy and JMSDF.
