CAC still has that new hall being constructed at the moment as well; and once both SAC and CAC have both of their new halls finished, that would be quite a bit of production floor area for new aircraft.

And JH-XX may still be possible. With the direction aerial warfare is evolving there may actually be a valuable enough role to justify development of such a platform in the future.

Yes, the JH-XX (or an aircraft oriented for the sort of supersonic capable, VLO, theater bomber/interceptor role) is something that I considered as well given it was a project that in the past SAC had thought to be a part of alongside XAC.

Both CAC and SAC will likely have a lot of work into the future, and having the production space to meet those demands is very essential, and it's important to keep our minds open as to what sort of projects they might pursue even in the near future.

Keep in mind that COMAC wants to increase production to 150 a year. CAC and SAC are probably both major suppliers, so there would need to be some factory space dedicated for civilian aviation also. Although I have not looked into how much space is required for major suppliers like Spirit Aerosystem takes up.

It actually would be good if funding for civilian aerospace projects pay for some of this capex

Well, there's likely to be many many different types of high end UAVs and UCAVs in service for a number of roles, which is what I mean by keeping an open mind. It is probably useful for everyone to avoid thinking about singular projects or platforms in terms of the development future high end UAVs and UCAVs, and to interpret these kind of industry pronouncements without taking it as gospel.

Even for something like "stealthy flying wing strike UCAV" there may well be potential for two or three such types to be in service simultaneously in large numbers across the PLA as a whole (including land launched and carrier launched)

Then consider other UAV categories (only fixed wing) like:
- "stealthy flying wing ISR UAV"
- "non-stealthy ISR/EW/ASW/multipurpose UAV/UCAV"
- "A2A UCAV"
- "air retrievable/air launchable multipurpose attritible UAV"
- "high speed ISR/multipurpose UAV"
- etc... and each category having 2-3 different types in service, and one begins to see the sheer potential for the diversity and number of high end UAVs and UCAVs that may be needed and produced in future
