IMO the whole image looks like being reduced in resolution or deliberately blurred.

By the way ... an interesting comparison now & then: Left the FC-31 demonstrator no. 31001 together with several J-11B, J-11BS and J-11BSH fighters at the SAC facility at Shenyang (posted on 19 September 2014) and the J-35 today.

If you look closely the nozzles appear jagged. I think that it is flying with WS-13E.

If you zoom in, around the whole aircraft there is a small blurring which stands out in contrast with the background.
However as I said this could also be due to the motion the aicraft has

Anyway, with Deino mentioning the intentional blurring or downgrading of resolution, may be the reason why. I agree with him
