J35A appears to have some radar transparent material from the root of the wing to the engine inlet whilst it is not available on the J35.....
Good question. I can't say for sure TBH. Judging by my old eyeballs, this J35 appears to have the same standardised vertical tail design over the initial prototypes or LRIP where the rudders extend the full length of the vertical tail, so it may not be the initial batch.Could it be that this video is actually a bit older already and shows the already known aircraft in production so the naval ones are from the LRIP-batch (aka Batch 00xx), whereas the J-35A are from Batch 01 and differ a bit to Batch 00?
Could be just paint. If the gray part is composite material for radar how is it attached to the green part around it? We can clearly see the rivets/screws on all the joints except this particular gray part.J35A appears to have some radar transparent material from the root of the wing to the engine inlet whilst it is not available on the J35.....
Composites use fastners not rivets or screwsCould be just paint. If the gray part is composite material for radar how is it attached to the green part around it? We can clearly see the rivets/screws on all the joints except this particular gray part.
The DSI is another good example, it is green all around and fixed by rivets but the rest (majority) area is gray without any visible fixtures.
