Give it some time. I have a strong feeling that J-35A was rushed to be shown in public before everything is finalized. The only quality photo so far is the one you replied to with panel and doors seals. All earlier photos are of half finished product that does not reflect the final product. Maybe you will see the edge treatment in later photos just like the door sealings.
F-35, F-22 and basically every other stealth aircraft do not have such treatment, J-20 is a edge case. J-35 likely do not need such treatment since even the ones in service aren't treated meaning its intended to not have it.

Are you sure? F-35 and F-22 certainly have the same edge treatment if the light is right to reveal.

We have seen J-35A in various finishing states, some of which were regarded as serial production variant just some months ago, how do you know the latest one isn't just another interim state? For that reason I said "give it some time".

Well, PLAAF might be cooked? Not sure why they would want to accept a half baked product

PLAAF isn't cooked, they will receive exactly what they demanded, PLAAF has J-20, J-35A isn't in a hury for them. It is more likely a political and commercial motivated rush by AVIC because we know that J-35A is an export orianted program from the getgo.

it is curious, at least for me, that the j-35a doesn´t have light grey RAMs in edges like the j-20, if it has RAMs applied.

F-35, F-22 and basically every other stealth aircraft do not have such treatment, J-20 is a edge case. J-35 likely do not need such treatment since even the ones in service aren't treated meaning its intended to not have it.

If the aircraft are using next generation meta materials, why would they need a different color RAM?
Whether they do or don’t use metamaterials is irrelevant to the question tbh. RAM is applied in many layers and some layers are temporary appliqués or topcoats that are only added for certain situations. You can’t tell anything about what’s going on with the RAM based on how something looks on the surface. The kinds of edge and surface treatments will also depend heavily on the material composition of the aircraft skin and underlying structures. Just because the J-35 doesn’t look like F-35 doesn't mean there’s anything anomalous here. People need to stop doing eyeball speculations. There is simply a lot of things that are unknowable from visual appearance, especially given how the science and engineering have progressed these days.
