J-35 carrier fighter (PLAN) thread

Yeah agreed, this sort of composite image is likely to be pretty misleading as to the actual relative sizes/dimensions. It's a cool overview of how different the planes look but because it's a composite of 2 images taken at different angles and distances it shouldn't be used for anything to scale like comparing their sizes or such.

Is this a photo taken of J-20 and J-35 actually next to each other, or is this an image of two photos spliced together?

Sorry my friend! I thought it was quite obvious!

That is my impression as well.

Which is why I think that picture of J-20 and J-35 alongside each other is at best misleading and at worst a waste of time.

Hm? I would call it misleading, at least not by intention since I thought you know this artist and it was indeed obvious. And if it is a „waste of time“ is maybe a personell‘s opinion. I think it is not and shows nicely how different on the one side and different both fighters in certain details.

I'll be honest, I am not very fond of that artist for making size comparisons, because by making "images" or "infographics" they may end up creating more misinformation if details are incorrect.

Sometimes it is better to have no images/infographics than have incorrect images/infographics.

In this specific case, splicing two different images together just creates the risk of incorrectly scaling the two aircraft and creating further misimpressions.
