I don't know about that. Most likely it was destroyed after it crashed. I have never heard that it was recovered by the Serbs or sent to China.

i remember that after the first apache was shot down in iraq, US forces immediately destroyed it with a tomahawk missile. any chance that they couldve learned their lesson from this incident? that is to assume the pieces were shipped to Russia and China

Re: New Generation Fighter

When would be the first fighter in the PLAN feature composite materials?

not yet, you see those little screws all over the body, that indicates it ain't composite yet. composite is necessary for further RCS reduction and lighter.

Sorry, but I think you are wrong.

The J-11B actually uses a large percentage of composite material, indeed its RCS is reduced to 3m instead of the original 15m on Su-27. It weights less than the original Su-27.

You don't need to apply the composite to the entire airframe, for example, the Eurofighter also uses a large percetage of composite. But its stress-intensive structural parts are still made of titanium.

A lot of the plane survived a great deal more intact then the pentagon would have liked. There were TV pictures of serbs dancing all over the wreckage, and it was cited in a documentary (on the B2 iirc) that they could not bomb the wreckage because of all the people (and probably also because of all the cameras) that were in the area.

All the electronics would have been wrecked in the crash, but the true value with the F117 comes from its materials.

No only could the Russians and Chinese study the materials to try to replicate it, they could also subject it to all sorts of tests to help them devise new means of detecting stealth planes.

according to Chinese web site,24% of J-10B and J-11 are make of composite material, roughly same as basic version of F-16A of the late 70's, But China aersospace firm main achilles heel is they unable to fabricate large single pieces of composite material .

Straight up BS because the J-10B does not even officially exist.

Do you have a source?

thought the first downed AH-64 was destroyed by an follow up air strike, if it was a tomahawk, then its pretty expensive and dumb in personal thinking, to use a tomahawk to destroy a downed AH-64, an air strike is much cheaper and effective.

Re: New Generation Fighter

Found a few new photos of possible Chinese J-XX's from this Chinese blog thing:

Can anyone translate the Chinese? Or better, has anybody seen this pictures on CCTV (you can see the CCTV 7 logo in the corner) and heard what dialogue these pictures were shown with?
(Hope these haven't been posted before, if they have, whoops)
