Sorry, but it seems as if I forgot to post this here too:

I must admit, I'm surprised that I missed this image, but perhaps this is the second J-20A prototype no. 2022 powered by WS-10C engines.

So far I knew only a hand-full of images showing the first one no. 2021, which made its first flight on 19. September 2017 and reports a second one flew eventually for the first time in January 2018.

Hold up, anyone else see the super thick black RAM layer on the panel just above the intake?

I don’t think I have seen that kind of RAM treatment on anything other than external doors that can and do open during flight, like the weapons bay doors and landing gear doors (interesting enough, not on the IRF probe doors).

You mean this one?

Indeed ... not visible on regular J-20s!

I think this image is a still from a recent promotional video. Notice the 2 female fighter pilots (not that it eventually that won't happen), just it probably isn't the case right now.

2022 has jag-edged top hatches on the left side as well. The purpose is still unknown as J-20 is not likely to carry two cannons on both sides.

You mean its on both sides? The other image has it on the right side. Probably geometry playing tricks with my eyes but they don’t even look like they’re in the same relative positions.

Indeed could fit to a gun ... (or at least the panel which covers a gun)

Definitely the correct size for a gun, but it strikes me as a bit awkward. That left canard will have an actuator in that area, and I don't believe there is anything resembling a gap for the muzzle on the lip of the left-side intake.
