J-20 pilot Wei Xin, who recently participated in an intercept, gives brief overview on J-20's greatest advantage. Since it can't be seen on enemy radar the J-20 could leverage its offensive capabilities and add enormous psychological pressure on the opponent and cause them to scramble to avoid the unseen threat. They'll retreat while the J-20 advances.

P.S. sounds like it is something he experienced in a practical setting first hand. As I've stated before, even older variants are now using the retractable lunesburg lens, which makes for interesting tactical considerations.

J-20 pilot states: When flying the aircraft with the cockpit overlooking the "Treasure Island" of the motherland, I can clearly see the entire coastline and mountain ranges of the "Treasure Island".

Almost certainly refer to Taiwan.

To be fair it could also refer to the time he made the trip in a Su-30MKK. However, it has been stated that J-20 has participated in the encirclement exercises, which makes the fact that J-20 has never been reported by Taiwan MOD very interesting.

I think that's a hypothesis that fits reasonably well with the observed data, say with 90% confidence level.

So if batch #7 is the current batch in production, we have at most 160 J-20s in service now.
it seems odd that after this many years production is capped at 20/batch. unless that was the upper limit of a particular factory. perhaps then with new factory coming online this number would increase to 30-40 per batch, or twice as many batches within a given time frame.

Maybe the urgency wasn’t as great before the Pelosi visit? Always better to wait until the proper fifth gen engine is ready. All bets are off now though. Reaching high quantity is a must.

In ShiLao’s latest podcast they confirmed that J-20 has participated in close flights to Taiwan. So close that they could see the island’s shoreline clearly.
