Well, first of all you should know, no-one outside the PLAAF or CAC knows this and second the term "so called 5th generation fighter jet" has the taste of provocation in it.

So, take this as an advice and decide quickly with your next posts, what's your intention here? To learn, to discuss or to provoke and troll around?

You decide ...
This term 5th generation was coined by Russians , They came with this idea of making a fighter jet which will deflect radar signals , Americans took this idea and developed F22 Raptor that’s why there are no protruding structures or sharp edges in F-22
The only area where a 5th generation fighter jets beats a 4th generation fighter jet is stealth

Not all Indians are curry
The Eastern Province of Bihar (where lord Buddha got enlightenment) has a glorious past , North Eastern States have a glorious past , Vijayanagar in South India which gave rise to Chola Empire has a glorious past
But don’t derail the thread i asked about the RCS of J20 not curry
Aren't you the one derailing the thread? You know damn well no one but PLAAF has the number.

As for whether J20 is legit, maybe these will help you understand better:

What is the RCS of this so called 5th generation fighter jet ?

Sure, modeling isn’t perfect but it beats eyeballing doesn’t it?

From the simulation results, it is easy to note that J-20 has good signature characteristic. Even though, J-20 RCS is higher than F-35A RCS through the frequency range (approximately 3.5 times in X-band, 1.5 times in VHF band), it still has much better RCS characteristic when compared to Su-57. The canard return blended very well with the main wing return, and due to their high swept angle, the first high RCS spike of J-20 actually located at around 50 degrees boresight. This mean it is very easy for J-20 pilots to keep enemy adversary within their stealthy sector. Add to the fact that J-20 has very big antenna aperture, it can be highly lethal in BVR combat.

Is the main reason J-20 has a higher RCS than the F-35 the canards?
It's a simulation...whatever number and bravado on RCS is quite futile. The most important thing is that J-20 have way lower RCS than any other fighters in China inventory and most military aviations in the world. RCS vs Canard is some kind of conjunctures for cheap talks, no sound proof on that.

Canards provide an advantage in range because of providing positive lift while a tail configuratiion give negative lift, to counter front heavy fighter, producing drag and reducing lift. New airliners try to circumvent that with tail heavy configuration, putting weight on the tail for it to provide positive lift to save fuel. Tail heavy is realy bad for manoeuvrability and in stall condition, quite hard to save. So no tail heavy fighter with tail to save duel. Canards do the trick.
