Excellent picture. The nozzle is much more sophisticated than I would have given it credit.

The closeup of these nozzles looks like they may be 3d vector capable. Particularly the shape of the nozzle petals and the large, what looks like an extended afterburner ring, inside the nozzles. I have not seen such an arrangement in a fighter engine nozzle before. Any clues?
Nope. Not thrust vector capable.
Why the strange configuration of the inner ring, an extended afterburner? Never seen anything like this config in a fighter engine before.

It's quite possible they are fuel contrails by the way it seems to disappear or evaporate in a matter of few seconds during the 2 J-20s' entrance. Smoke normally would take a longer time to disappear or disperse.
