Weight wise it is no problem, space-wise it is. PL-15 is thicker than the AIM-120D and has wider fins. Even when stacked there isn't enough space in the main bays for 6 missiles.

Based on the weapons bay images, I think there is lots of room. The issue is that the J-20 isn't really using it effectively. The PL-15 still has some room length wise and stacking it along that way shouldn't be impossible. It's very odd how small the weapons bay is given the size of the aircraft.

Many aircraft like the F-22, SU-57 and the F-35 had less missiles to begin with with future upgrades better utilizing the weapons bay.

I'm late to the party by two weeks!

Here is a new gif of J-20 flying over a traffic jam.

Any idea where this is taken?

By the way ... there are rumours again stating that several / dozens (?) of newly-built J-20s about to be handed over to a unit within the Northern Theater Command.

Overall a new unit makes sense given the 176th Brigade in late 2016, the 172nd Brigade in late 2017 and the 9th Brigade in late 2019 receiving the first J-20s it almost looks like a pattern.

Ok here are my questions,
  1. How many “Dadui” in 9th brigade received j-20 now? I think all three is very likely? based on the previous training news, seems like there was at least another one since early this year
  2. Any further news about the j-20 in Quzhou? Are those belongs to 9th brigade or local 85th brigade?
  3. Given previous experience, when new unit received new j-10 or j-11, was entire unit get 20-30 jets simultaneously or received one “dadui” a time? That is assuming the rumor that Anshan is finally coming true, with so many witnesses of j-20 around Chengdu recently, I feel the 1st brigade maybe receive more than one “dadui” around the end of this year
  4. This may not directly link to j-20, but do we know which unit got those Su-30 from 9th brigade’s hand?
After all, the production rate in Chengdu may exceed our previous expectations...even with COVID... that’s impressive

My guess is Wuhu.

Do you remember the order in which PLAAF equipped the Su-27? Wuhu was the first to receive the flankers. Who received the second batch?
