Captain
Huitong or his associates have identified Datong/Huairen (39°43'01.2"N 113°08'21.6"E) as an airbase where the J-20 was temporarily stationed for the filming of Sky Hunters or to assist with rehearsals for the 90th Anniversary parade.

This means my previous prediction is most likely incorrect as Huairen seems to have functioned only as a temporary base for rehearsals.

Talking about annual production rate though.

You have to keep in mind that the F-35 is a multinational project with funding from multiple nations. If you've got ten or twenty countries waiting in line for the J-20, you can expect the annual production to go up too.

A China run by you is a China that will follow in the footsteps of the Soviet Union.

So I'm very glad China isn't run by you.

Come on Jed, how does stating the facts make China into Russia,,, strawman Dude,,, all goes back to the fact that 5 Gen is a philosophy as much as hardware...its one thing to mass produce Flankers, not that that is easy, but the "heavy lifting" has been done.

It's a whole new ball-game to produce 5th generation aircraft, even more so since China lacks the requisite engine production technology to push the J-20 to the next level, no OVT is only a part of the package, more important tactically is that super cruise and high altitude performance are the more important aspects of 5th Gen technology.

LockMart has been building "L/O" aircraft since the 50's, first the U-2, high-altitude, radar absorbing paint?? (helpful, but still vulnerable) to air defences,, next came the SR-71 and even the MC-130E with their radar absorbent coatings, the SR-71 upping the game with very high supersonic cruise. Then came the F-117, B-2, and F-22,,, so they have a "corner" on the market, and the F-35 is a natural outgrowth of that capability..

the J-20 is a very advanced high performance aircraft. That it is even in production, batch production is a credit to their tenacity and desire, but it is a mountain that must be climbed, one piton driven in after the other,,, to attempt to discredit someone who's been climbing that mountain and long time, and knows the way, is just bad form.

Wow, you went off on a tangent, didn't you.

My point isn't about addressing the minutia of Tidalwave's comment, it's a rebuttal to his entire worldview. He has something colloquially known as "small-penis syndrome" in that he's an advocate for actions that serve no real purpose other than to assume a superficial superiority. Look through his comments, it's pretty obvious he's very insecure about trivial things, mostly about posturing and/or pure numbers.

In this specific instance, he is insecure that LM's production figures are in the triple digits while CAC's are in the double digits without any consideration for other variables like economic feasibility, doctrinal requirements, and opportunity costs. Practically identical to the USSR's leaders who were insecure about their dicks compared to the Americans' and poured their country's resources into unsustainable military production rather than invest in their citizens' quality of life, which is why I'm very glad that, unlike dear old Tidalwave over here, the current Chinese leadership has no such phallus-derived insecurities and is sensibly limiting China's defence spending to <2% of GDP.
