LoL, but I think avic actually patented the shape of j-20... just not sure about j-15, so to that extend....SAC just stole those fan art without giving the artist any credit.

Do you think they will be able to use the CATOBAR variant on the STOBAR carrier or they will keep a STOBAR variant in production to replace attrition ?If true indeed another major news: This latest image from SAC suggested that the J-15T - eventually officially as the J-15B (?) CATOBAR variant - is in production at SAC. Quite interesting it seems to feature new handles (for a CAT-launch similar to thise on the F-14) and a new HUD.

Some pretty cool video on mid-air refuel training - linked from Henri Kenhmann‘s Twitter
There seems to be nothing in the CATOBAR design requirement that would prevent it from being used in STOBAR mode.Do you think they will be able to use the CATOBAR variant on the STOBAR carrier or they will keep a STOBAR variant in production to replace attrition ?
How do the avionics of the J-15 compare to that of the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet?
Beat my by half a minute damn. I agree this just throws up more questions. I would like to know if the 6X is filled already given that we have a 7X serial. Also what is the state of the 3X serials, I assume they wouldn't just build half a dozen aircraft with lower serials of new batch and then renumber to a higher first digit so there is bound to be a serial higher than 35 (and what about 4X then, just not spotted?).The J-15 story is getting more and more confusing!
... and now here is J-15 no. 72!![]()
While the renumbering from 1xx numbers to 01-24 made sense and the additional Batch 03 fighters logically became No. 30+, the No. 60 modex J-15 were or are still unusual.
My feeling tells me that we see a second squadron under construction with numbers 01-35 in the first wing and no. 60-xx in the second.
