J-10 Thread IV

I think the J-XY is a very pretty looking plane. It is a win-win situation to me regardless since I am not paying for them.
Not the latest prototype that flew... it was one ugly fat bird.

he gave cogent reasons why a J-10D should (not must) logically exist.
Unless a J-10D is just incremental upgrades to J-10C or just a future avionics refresher, seems like a waste of resources to invest any further into the J-10 platform. By 2035 fully autonomous aircraft should be taking over the role of short range / lightweight fighters.

it's never a waste to invest in single-engine jet......esp now its export value started to emerge via Pakistan, north korea, Iraq?

J-10C variants kept up to date with latest avionics is both sufficient for domestic and export purposes. Other possible upgrade may be improved WS-10 variants that end up being developed for J-16. No need for any redesigns significant enough to warrant a J-10D classification.
