Still no creditable explanation why J-10Cs aren't using WS-10 engines?

Simply because J10 is tactical fighter short legged And use to intercept therefore less urgent requirement.
WS10 are use for high priority item like J16 where it can slung the PLxx VLAAM and use to hit high value target Therefore it is strategic fighter

BTW the number of J10A+J10B is roughly 110 according to Oedo So the table is not far off we know there are roughly 250 J10A +110J10(B,C)= 360

Number of J-10B is 53 + α (α> 4) machine The number of the J-10C that can be confirmed now is 54 A total of over 110 was definite

hmm, no

think about when started testing WS-10 on J-11B and how many years it took before they were reliably flying with them. And that's with the Russians monitoring the usage of AL-31F on J-11B series.

There simply is no reason why J-10 series must use WS-10 engine. Once they think WS-10 is a better option than the latest version of AL-31FN and happy with the test program, they will make the switch.

The WS-10B will go into mass-production when the PLAAF gives the green light. We will know that the PLAAF is satisfied and fully committed when we see dozens of WS-10B powered J-10C start flying off CAC.

But, until then J-10C will fly with AL-31FN Series turbofans.

First batch was J-10Bs. Also there were 55 identified in that batch but Deino thinks there should be a few more because batches are usually in even numbers.

Thanks.
Wowww, so Chine seems able to produce one batch of 54 J-10C a year ... by the end 2020, there will be over 250 J-10C operational (and 54 J-10B and over 250 J-10A) ... quite a force to be reckoned by anybody, including the US
