ISIS/ISIL conflict in Syria/Iraq (No OpEd, No Politics)

... and fierce fights have been going on since then, mainly in the area designated "Ard al-Mallah" in the map below (it's usually called Mallah Farms; I didn't look at features of that area), with the goal of the Government
  1. to take over this area (massively attacking from the hills north to Aleppo, in middle-top in the map below), and then presumably
  2. get to Khalidiyeh (middle-bottom) and other Government-held districts of Aleppo
in order to encircle non-Government non-Kurdish districts of Aleppo (which would then schematically look as the area in blue below; the Kurdish neighborhood is shown schematically in orange:

Attack at Prophet's Mosque

A suicide bomber detonated a bomb at a parking lot outside the Prophet's Mosque in Medina, the second-holiest site in Islam, a Saudi security spokesman told state news agency SPA.

"Security men noticed a suspicious person among those approaching the Prophet's Mosque in an open area used as parking lots for visitors' cars. As they confronted him, he blew himself up with an explosive belt, which resulted in his death and the martyrdom of four of the security men," the spokesman said.

Five other officers were wounded, the statement added.

A video sent to Reuters by a witness to the aftermath of the Medina bombing showed a large blaze among parked cars in the fading evening light, with the sound of sirens in the background. A picture sent to Reuters showed a burnt and bleeding man lying on a stretcher in a hospital.

Other pictures circulating on social media showed dark smoke billowing from flames near the Mosque of the Prophet, originally built in the 7th century by the Prophet Muhammad, who is buried there along with his first two successors.

If Turkey and Russia had a skirmish, going to an air war (not a proper land way yet), would it resemble anything like shown below? Turkish air force seems decimated, though cost to russian forces seems high as well...

... the points from the above post:

#1 ISIL reportedly is counter-attacking toward Al-Khataf (visible in the first map above, just to the east from Manbij) and from the north, to open "216 Road" toward ISIL-held territory (it ends up in

#2 ISIL reportedly captured, presumably important, "Mount Saraj", which ...

this weekend I saw reports (repeat: saw reports) ISIL might be able to lift the siege of Manbij ... which of course is hard to believe ...
... and now I read in Twitter ISIL took it north from the town to "Al-Mankubah"

(after it had retaken "Al Khataf", to the east, recently: https://www.sinodefenceforum.com/is...no-oped-no-policis.t6913/page-388#post-403725),

and ISIL pushing south (toward Manbij) took over "Al Zatar Cement Factory", the place which shows in black, in top-left corner below; it's roughly ten miles in between those two places:

sounded cautious yesterday (am retyping one sentence from the right banner in the overview below):
Siege still going at the date of the map, with an estimated 600 to 1000 fighters still inside Manbij.
