I just just heard the news on BNR, my favourite radio station, and it contained the news that Jens Stoltenberg, secretary general of NATO, has said that NATO might have to send reinforcements to the border between Turkey and Syria to help defend Turkey. The Turkish army is larger than all Syrian armed forces and terrorists together at 700 000 men. How will the main stream media bring this important news?

That is just thinly veiled sabre rattling by NATO.

Turkey is under zero threat from Russia and Syria. Indeed, it has always been Turkey who was the threat to Assad and Syria.

Its is actually a very serious threat. So seriously indeed is it taken by Her Majesty's government, that we are sending a whole Infantry platoon to reinforce the Baltic States.........

The corvettes are fitted with launchers that are able to fire cruise missiles but that can't be there usual load out.

delft, what makes you say that? considerations about "top weight" maybe?? the weight of all eight "Klubs" mounted on a ship would be about 15 tons ... plus I don't think you would know what is, or is not, inside any of Russian VLS :)

anyway, presumably those four ships

Isn't it obvious by now that under Obama's leadership, the US will not respond robustly except by making some statements criticizing Russia's actions? Nato will look to the US for leadership and will find none as long as Obama is in the WH and so don't expect anything from Nato either. The present US administration has no strategy in dealing with the Syrian problem because it is either disinterested or incompetent. In my view, insisting on a regime change in Syria is misplaced because there are no viable alternatives as demonstrated by the basket cases with Libya, and Iraq. The Middle East is simply not a place for democracy because of culture and religious divide.

Putin understand Obama is all talk and no action. It would be foolishness not to exploit such weaknesses.
Sadly Mr. Brumby, I am afraid you are right?? pray for us!
