Well, at least they have IFVs that can drive and shoot at the same time now.
So? What's the net difference between having a stop and shot vehicle and having running shooter with a stop and shot crew?

Actually, it's worse, because it is the old vehicles are cheaper.

And I don't really like the idea of airborne IFVs. It gives you mobility, but the armor sucks, the vehicle isn't very adaptable(unlike the FAV). It's worse now that you can't drop the car with the crew inside.

the armor cant be there to save weight. it's not the mobility, it's the fire power that lets it punch through enemy defences. the armor is probably good enough for small arms fire. i dont like how you cant be dropped in it though. the pla can easily correct that flaw.

well, shooting in moving give a harder target to hit for the ennemy, it's all about battlefield survivabilty.

PLA really needs more training on the Airborne Vehicle part and also paradrop training is essential for later exercises and conflicts.

I say better everything with the special forces, marine corps, airborne, etc...
That is right Mr. Chairman. PLA's Marine Corps are the youngest military branch in the Navy. Massive training exercise should be conducted to maintain the combat readiness for all of the PLA armed forces.

an airborne drop is very signifigant to taking taiwan. the pla needs ome more experience with the field. maybe they should do some drops in tukmenistan of afganistan. the marines are probably the most excercised troops in the pla. the are in almost every major excercise.

The airborne IFV was only show to the public recently. I guess 15th Airborne only recevied those not long ago. Time is needed and the stop-shot-go is aimed at lower casualities during the exercise.

How ever, force rally and assemble is the key to airborne troop. A lot more training is needed for sure.

I've seen a lot of pictures of it in PDF when I still went there, but never got to ask what it was. (The 87 page stickied topic. Too long, no point to ask.)

But you can't exactly drop an IFV on a mountain and expect it to survive. The flatter part of Taiwan is heavily populated, so you can't really give paratroops the needed surprise there...........

That is why this year and the next year all of the airborne forces will receive even more fund than the PLAN Marines. The PLAN Marines are considered Elite units and falls under the Rapid Reaction Units catergory.
