Problem is that I have a iMac, iPad and iPhone

When I take a picture on my phone it uploads to all my devices back at home (I work away from home) so that is very handy

Also if my wife takes pictures on the iPad at home I get them on photostream on my iPhone you don't have to send them it's great to see pics of my son taken during the day when I get back home

The problem part is that if I change to samsung I loose all this photo streaming stuff and then my devices are not integrated and basically not using the full potential of the apple devices

So I am stuck with Apple now or should I say I've been taken in by their marketing strategy! Very naughty of them

Funny, I have the same kind of usage case (With friends and relatives instead of a wife and kid), and I use Microsoft services.

The best part is, I'm not tied to Apple devices, like you say you are. MS uses their OneDrive for that sync and backup, and the app is available on all devices, including Android and iOS, not just Microsoft ones. There's a web interface as well, so I can see my documents and photos on any browser.

I'll get one, the iP6 Plus 128GB is my target, but I doubt I could get my hands on one - less two so I can join in the speculation fever and make a small buck out of the craze.

Calling it "craze" but I still love iPhone more than Android...if you ask me, Android still not as solid a platform as the iOS does, more fun to play around sure but more things to go wrong with (ie. more time wasted on debugging).

And I buy into the Apple Pay...though I don't expect it to roll out in Asia (especially HK) before the end of this year.

Also the bigger screen...even Apple has to accept that the market accept the big screen thing, and big screen does have its merit, fortunately they didn't go as crazy as making iPad have full phone capability as Galaxy Tab, which'd make things awkward.

I find myself use more of the Google Photos than Photo Stream, and my iCloud service's primo uno role is to backup my gears, because Google gives me 15GB space for free compare with iCloud's 5GB.

Anyway, I reckon I'd get my hands on the new Nikon D750 before I could finally buy myself that new iP6 Plus...

Now that's expensive.. the new iphone 6 cost in the US..

I checked prices with Hakse.com.kh and found the following prices:

Prices in the U.S are indeed cheaper than that in Cambodia. However, the prices you mentioned are tied with two years contract. In Cambodia, you just buy a phone and walk away, and do the jail-break by yourself (have someone do it for you). I think people in Cambodia buy iPhone just because it is a symbol of status. Some young people even pay their iPhone by installment!

Yep, $199-$299 is the price with a 2-year contract. If you don't want contracts, you will have to pay the full price, which is $599-$699. Someone actually made a calculation and found that it's actually cheaper overall NOT to have a contract (considering both phone prices and monthly charge for phone calls, texting and data), even though the phone is so much cheaper with a contract... We are with AT&T and without a contract. It's working out well for us.

As we all know, today the new iPhone are released. Though I failed to hop onto the first train (and I'm not that hopeful either, the market gone mad if you've read the news) I managed to have a few minutes of hands-on at the Apple Store...

For one, the iPhone6 Plus is even lighter than my iPhone5s with Lifeproof case; the overall dimension is bigger of course but after testing the size with case from Apple, it'd still fit well into my pocket, no jutting out or whatever; edges are smooth and rounded off, even the glass surface - so I kinda wonder what'd happen if applying protector film onto it.

Until I can get myself one...though I wonder if it'd be easier to get that Nikon D750 than this one.

I ordered an iphone 6 plus through my carrier the day before yesterday. I will not receive the phone till Oct. 28.

I did not want the phone. My old lady is going to back to China. Many her friends asked her to buy one for them. My goodness, she has to stop. In one hour, she ordered 6 gold iphone 6 plus at $849 + tax a piece. Those phones will not be shipped before Oct. 14. I just waited few days, but I have to wait 2 weeks longer.

Sounds like she's made quite a profitable investment:

Many in HK are trying to ride the tide on the first week to make the sure-fire gain, and by the current trend, just selling one iPhone 6 Plus will reap enough to fully pay for the other one you keep for yourselves, and because of accusation that the grey market dealers are trying to push down the buying price to maximise their end of the bargain, more and more are holding onto their stock, forcing the grey/black market price to go higher as the demand from Mainland China is still going strong.

In short, if you miss the 1st week of this bandwagon, your risk to enter the game will be higher, as nobody would know when the final green light will be given in China - when it does, the grey market price outside China will...er, plunge...

So, if you still got no luck in hitting iReserve by next Saturday (the SMS verification is utter bitch if you ask me, I lost again today!), better wait it out for the market to cool down enough for some proper senses to settle back in.

Personally, I won't let those grey market dealers to rip me off.
