Does anyone actually like caviar, or is consumption purely a status thing?
it's not bad. it's just not good. so yeah i'd say it is purely a status thing but china has disrupted that like everything else. the real western rich don't care much though as they've moved onto even higher status activities like blood transfusion from the young, child cannibalism, etc.

This confirm my suspicion that rich assholes don’t so much want to enjoy comfortable lifestyles as superior lifestyles to the peasants. They always need some special status symbol to set themselves apart from us mere mortals.
Hey that's why they are now going for transhumanism instead of blue blood aristocracy it will be designer babies, robotic limbs, micro plastic free blood, sex changes and shit.

If you think Cavier is bad wait till you see HK Airport. I paid almost 40 dollars for a bowl of rice with Char Siu and Siu Yuk while I can get a bigger portion in Markham for a quarter of the price. HK People complained about an outlet selling cheaper food saying that it ruins HK Airport.

Not all them taste the same. I once gifted a black one. I liked that one even standalone unlike the other ones I tried so far. Then I learnt it was coming from a fish that is being driven to extinction because of its caviar so I never bought it myself. I also like it when caviar is used on sushi. I mean the small orange ones. Those taste bad on their own though.

you're talking about sturgeon. there are sturgeon sustainably farmed in china for their caviar just FYI so if you're buying from china it's sustainable.
